Christy Matusiak DC

Christy Matusiak DC I help patients achieve their health goals and overcome mental, physical and nutritional challenges Because I seek to correct the cause, and not its effect.

Dr. Matusiak feels that utilizing AK sets her apart from other chiropractors who will often use pain-suppressing modalities that do not entirely address the underlying cause for your symptoms. Her practice emphasizes spinal and extremity manipulation, muscle work, cranial/TMJ corrections, reflexology, meridian balancing, energy healing, nutrition, and lifestyle modification to enhance overall heal

th. Practicing in Wilmette, IL with Integrated Holistic Healthcare, Dr. Christy Matusiak, D.C. aims to help patients return to an active and rewarding lifestyle as quickly as possible without the use of drugs or surgery. She understands that the healing process extends beyond pain relief/symptom reduction and strongly believes in educating and motivating patients to make lifestyle changes that will prevent future injury or illness. Why I am a doctor of Chiropractic

Because I honor the inborn potential of everyone to be truly healthy. Because I desire to help the newborn, the aged, and those without hope. Because I choose to care for the patient with the disease, not the disease. Because I wish to assist rather than intrude; to free rather than control. Because I know that doctors do not heal, only the body can heal itself. Because I have been called to serve others. Because I want to make a difference. Because every day I get to witness miracles. Because I know it is right.

-William Esteb

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and
prevention of disease.”

If you struggle with heartburn, reflux, or indigestion, the problem may not be too much stomach acid.

A hiatal hernia occurs when part of the stomach moves above the diaphragm, which can contribute to that uncomfortable burning sensation and digestive distress. In this video, I'm demonstrating a simple technique that may help provide some relief.

Remember: symptoms are clues. Understanding the root cause is the first step toward lasting healing ❤️‍🩹

One of the biggest misconceptions about reflux, GERD, and indigestion is that stomach acid is always the problem. Surprisingly, most people experiencing heartburn actually have too little stomach acid, not too much.

When stomach acid is low, the valve between your stomach and esophagus may not close properly, allowing acid to splash upward and create that familiar burning sensation.

So how do you know which camp you fall into?

Try this simple test⬇️
✔️ Drink a small amount of lemon water or apple cider vinegar before a meal.

➡️ If your symptoms improve, low stomach acid may be contributing to the problem.
➡️ If your symptoms worsen, excess stomach acid may be the issue.

And don't forget - there's a third possibility: a hiatal hernia, which can also create reflux-like symptoms.

The takeaway? The same symptom can have very different root causes, which means the right solution depends on understanding what's actually happening in your body.
Healing starts with asking better questions.

Healing isn’t something your body learns. It’s something your body remembers 🌊

Your body is constantly working to repair, regulate, and restore itself. Sometimes healing isn’t about doing more. It’s about creating the conditions that allow the body to do what it already knows how to do 🦋

When we support the nervous system, reduce stress, nourish the body, and remove interference, healing can begin to unfold.

✨ The body has incredible wisdom. Our job is to support it.

Eczema is often linked to food sensitivities, but sometimes the story goes much deeper.

When we only focus on the skin, we may miss underlying factors like stress, inflammation, immune function, or other imbalances in the body.

❗️ The symptom is important.
‼️ The root cause is even more important.

True healing starts by asking why the body is reacting in the first place.
