Today is my birthday! 🎂🥳❤️

And this year, I have a little birthday wish…

If I’ve ever had the pleasure of doing your hair, helping you through your hair loss journey, or making you feel a little more confident, it would mean so much to me if you left Alternative Hair Couture a Google review. ⭐️

Your kind words are more than just a review. They help my small business grow and help others find us when they’re searching for someone they can trust.

I’ve poured so much love into what I do, and having you be part of this journey is already such a gift.

A few kind words on Google would absolutely make my day! 🥹❤️

Thank you for supporting my dream and allowing me to continue doing what I love.

With love,
Maria 💕

A little behind-the-scenes love for our salon. ❤️

Adolfo has been a bricklayer for over 27 years, and watching him work still amazes me. He is truly a master of his craft. A true artist.

Here he is doing some tuckpointing, continuing to put his time, talent, and hard work into making our salon beautiful.

He’s not only my husband, but my true partner in life and in business. I’m so grateful to have someone by my side who believes in our dreams as much as I do and works just as hard to bring them to life.

What makes this place even more special is knowing how much of his craftsmanship is part of it. His hands, his talent, and his love are literally built into these walls.

So much love continues to go into Alternative Hair Couture, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’re building together.

It’s so much more than a salon to us. It’s our dream, our hard work, and a little piece of our hearts. ❤️🧱

This is the part of owning a salon that feels like a dream. ❤️

Yesterday, one of my sweet clients stopped by the salon and repotted our planter, added beautiful fall flowers, and left us a pumpkin. I didn’t even know she had done it! 🥹🍂

Then another client surprised us with a big bag of Halloween candy for everyone to enjoy. 🎃🍬

It’s these little gestures that remind me that our salon is so much more than a place to get your hair done.

Our clients are our community. They bring so much love, kindness, and thoughtfulness into our space, and I hope they feel that same love every time they walk through our doors.

I’ve always dreamed of creating a salon where people feel welcomed, cared for, and connected. Seeing that happen so naturally means more to me than I can explain.

It’s the people who make Alternative Hair Couture such a special place. And I couldn’t be more grateful. ❤️

Okay, real talk. Every time you like, comment, or share one of our reels, the algorithm sends a little thank-you note to our family business. Every time you scroll past without tapping that heart, my mom feels it. Somewhere. Somehow. 😅

AHC is a family-run salon right here in Glenview, and we don’t have a giant marketing budget. We have you. So if this made you smile, hit like, follow along, and send it to the friend who’s always complaining about her hair. It genuinely helps us more than you know.

If you’ve been thinking about doing something about your hair before the holidays, this is your sign to stop thinking and book it.

Dealing with thinning or shedding? Our scalp and hair loss treatments work over a series of visits, so starting now gives them real time to work before the family photos.

Want extensions for the season? Every install starts with a consultation and color match. Get that on the calendar now so install day is easy.

Just need color and a cut? Totally fair. December books up first here, so grab your spot while you still have options.

Not sure what you need? Book a consultation and we’ll figure it out together.

This is what I love to see at a maintenance appointment.

Minimal shedding when I take down her extensions.

My client wears Invisible Bead Extensions® and uses Goldie Locks for her at-home care, but she also does her part. She brushes properly, uses the right products and takes care of her extensions between appointments.

Extensions are an investment, and what you do at home really does make a difference in how they look, feel and last.

Beautiful extensions aren’t just about the installation. It’s the technique, quality hair, maintenance and good home care all working together.

A little look at the work I truly love. 🤍

For me, hair replacement has never been about simply adding hair. It’s about listening, understanding what someone is going through, and finding a solution that feels right for them.

Whether I’m working with a custom wig, topper, cranial prosthesis, extensions or scalp and hair restoration, I believe in taking an ethical, personalized approach. No pressure. No one-size-fits-all solutions. Just thoughtful work, education and options that make sense for each person.

And of course, the details matter. The color, density, cut, placement and customization are what help make it feel like your hair.
