We're still in awe of Aniea, a Senior RBT at our Lake Bluff center.
Juneteenth and Pride Month have passed, but we didn't want the moment to go by without recognizing what she created. On her own, Aniea made two boards for the center. The first celebrates Juneteenth and Pride Month and shares why they matter. The second is a resource board for the families she works with, put together for the parents who are still learning how ABA, insurance, and a diagnosis fit together.
In her words:
"Juneteenth and Pride Month are both celebrations that have been meaningful to me in my personal life, and I wanted to help bring awareness by sharing why recognizing and supporting marginalized communities matters.
I also have a great deal of admiration for our parents and the dedication they show to their children. Some are very familiar with ABA therapy, insurance, and what a diagnosis means. Others may not have had the opportunity to research these topics or fully understand the possibilities for their child's progress. I wanted to provide resources that can serve as a refresher, or help parents expand their knowledge of ABA and the services available to support their families."
Nobody asked her to do this. She did it because these things matter to her, and that's exactly the kind of person we're lucky to have on our team.
Thank you, Aniea. π
