The Courage Center Our services include: DEEP, IOP, MAT+, and recovery housing.

The Courage Center is a locally owned, peer-run organization, dedicated to helping every member of our community in finding the program of recovery that will work best for them. When we were starting The Courage Center, we were continually shocked by the stories of dangerous and unethical practices happening in many treatment programs for people in Maine with Substance Use Disorders. Our team is deeply committed to doing things differently—providing ethical, evidence-based, and truly effective services. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive services that support individuals on their journey to recovery and long-term wellness. Our treatment options include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Driver Education and Evaluation Programs (DEEP), and both individual and group therapy. We believe in a flexible, personalized approach to care, ensuring each participant receives the tailored support they need for successful recovery.

What a beautiful day! We started our day with a morning stretch on the grass and ended with a participant walk full of peer bonding and a fresh sense of appreciation for the world around us.
Get outside and move your body!

We are proud to recognize Jessi for her continued growth, leadership, and dedication to the individuals and communities we serve across York and Cumberland County.

In her role, Jessi has been instrumental in developing and overseeing a recovery housing model that reflects the core values of our approach at Courage Center, providing structured, person-centered support while promoting independence, accountability, and long-term stability. Her leadership is grounded in thoughtful decision-making, consistency, and fairness—qualities that are essential in creating safe and effective recovery environments.

Jessi’s ability to balance clinical awareness with real-world application allows her to meet individuals where they are while maintaining the integrity of the program. She is a strong advocate for both clients and staff, and her presence continues to strengthen our team and the services we provide.

We are excited to celebrate Jessi as she earns her first clinical credentials as Alcohol & Drug Counseling Aid (ADCA)—an important milestone that reflects her commitment to this work and the impact she has already made.

Thank you, Jessi, for the leadership and heart you bring to this field every day. We are incredibly lucky to have you! 💜🤍💜
