Trauma can change the way a child sees the world, experiences relationships, responds to stress, and even understands safety.

In my newest blog, “PTSD vs. Complex PTSD (C-PTSD): Understanding Trauma, Triggers, and the Journey Toward Healing in Children,” I explore the differences between PTSD and Complex PTSD and discuss important concepts such as the nervous system, Polyvagal Theory, the Window of Tolerance, and the power of safety and connection.

When we understand the impact of trauma, we can move away from asking, “What’s wrong with this child?” and begin asking:

✨ “What happened to this child?
✨ “How can we help this child feel safe enough to heal?”

Trauma may change children, but it does not define them. Healing is possible through safety, connection, supportive relationships, and trauma-informed care. 💛

✨ A new chapter in my professional journey! ✨

One of the greatest privileges in my career has been walking alongside children and families as they heal through the power of play. Today, I’m excited to share that I’m now offering Play Therapy Supervision as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S™)!

Supervision is so much more than collecting hours—it’s about developing confidence, strengthening clinical decision-making, deepening your understanding of play therapy theory, and providing ethical, evidence-informed care to children and families.

In my newest blog, I share why this next step means so much to me, what I’ve learned since becoming a play therapist and how I’m committed to supporting the next generation of play therapists.

Day 1 of EMDR Basic Training! 📚🧠

As a therapist, I believe that learning never stops. I’m excited to deepen my knowledge of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) so I can continue providing evidence-based, trauma-informed care to the children, teens, and families I serve.

Every new skill is another opportunity to help someone heal.

Here’s to growth, learning, and expanding the ways we support those on their healing journey. 💜

Finding the right support can change everything. 💜

When a family is impacted by sibling sexual trauma and abuse (SSTA), it can feel overwhelming to know where to turn. The good news is—you don’t have to navigate it alone.

In my newest blog, I’ve gathered trusted organizations and resources that provide education, support, treatment information, advocacy, and hope for:
✨ Parents & caregivers
✨ Survivors
✨ Mental health professionals
✨ Anyone wanting to better understand SSTA

Healing begins with information, connection, and knowing that help exists.

💜 You are not alone.
💜 There is support.
💜 There is hope.

Every child deserves a safe place to share their story. ❤️

As a therapist, author, and parent, I wrote Rosie’s Big Secret to help children understand that they are never alone, their feelings matter, and there are trusted adults who will listen.

Sometimes a story is the first step toward healing.

If this book helps even one child find the courage to speak up, it has done exactly what it was created to do.
