June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, and we're proud to have these four on our team. They're down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and genuinely good at what they do.
1 in 5 men experience a mental illness each year. Most don't get help. That's what we're here to change, one honest conversation at a time.
CEC is here when you're ready to talk.

Our community is getting more support for addiction recovery and mental health access. Proud that CEC's Orchard Mesa expansion is part of this. πŸ’›

Opioid addiction and overdose have been a nationwide epidemic since 1999, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Despite inklings of progress, the crisis has largely persisted.

Meet TJ.

TJ is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and Certified Addiction Counselor with more than a decade of experience helping people move toward stability, recovery, and real personal growth. He has been doing this work since 2012, primarily in residential treatment and outpatient settings, walking alongside people navigating substance use and everything that comes with it.

TJ works from the belief that every person's story is unique and that healing requires support built around you, not a one-size-fits-all model. He focuses on practical skill-building and client empowerment, helping people develop the tools they need to move through life with resilience and confidence.

TJ completed his internship right here at CEC, and we are thrilled to welcome him back as a clinician.

CEC is growing. We are thrilled to welcome Mark Martin to our team.

Mark is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than a decade of experience serving youth, adults, couples, and families. He completed his MSW in 2015 and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Social Work, with a focus on deepening clinical practice and strengthening the systems that support community wellbeing.

Mark works from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective, drawing on cognitive-behavioral and trauma-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. He brings a calm, steady presence to his work and a genuine commitment to helping clients build emotional regulation and lasting self-trust.

Mark also supervises and mentors developing clinicians, and he brings that same investment to growing the next generation of therapists in our community. At CEC, we believe that when clinicians feel supported, the whole community benefits. Mark lives that belief.

We are proud to be expanding our capacity to serve the Grand Valley with clinicians of his caliber. If you or someone you know is looking for counseling support, reach out at https://www.cecwecare.org/contact-us/ .

Is your teen sleeping less, pulling away, or just... off lately? It might not just be "teenager stuff."

Anxiety is the most common mental health concern in teens, and it doesn't always look the way you'd expect. Sometimes it shows up as irritability, dropping grades, or spending more time on screens.

CEC therapist Hailey Langer, MA, LPCC, wrote a guide to help Grand Valley parents know what to look for, how to start the conversation, and when it might be time to bring in some extra support. Hailey specializes in working with kids, teens, and young adults. πŸ‘‡
