Art has the power to challenge, celebrate, and reimagine our future.

Back in June, I had the opportunity to attend Future Minded Utopia Through Black Lenses, a public exhibition at the Spartanburg Artists Collective, beautifully curated by artist Lady Pluuto. The exhibition showcased the creativity, imagination, and perspectives of talented Black artists from our community, each offering a unique vision through their work.

One artist I went to support was LaToya Dixon-Smith Latoya Dixon Smith, an engineer and bo***ir photographer whose work reflects the beautiful intersection of technical precision and artistic expression.

What I love most is that this exhibition reminds us that investing in local artists means investing in our community’s culture, history, and future. Many of the featured pieces are available for purchase, making it possible to bring a piece of that creativity home while directly supporting the artists behind it. Atom BLK | EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER

Movement, fresh air, good music, and community? Count me in. 🧘🏽‍♀️☀️

I had such a great time at Pilates Body By Jill at Barnet Park in Spartanburg! This mat Pilates class (no reformers needed) challenged both the body and the mind, with a strong emphasis on intentional breathing and controlled movement.

And can we talk about the playlist? Flowing through class with Ari Lennox and Jazmine Sullivan in the background made the experience even better.

The best part? Classes are FREE and take place every Saturday at 9:00 AM!

I had the pleasure of attending the 6th Ladies Night Out, featuring bestselling romance author Jasmine Guillory!

Throughout the evening, Jasmine shared the inspiration behind her novels, how she brings her characters to life, her creative writing process, her journey from attorney to bestselling author, and what readers can look forward to in her upcoming books.

Guests also had the opportunity to have their books signed and received complimentary tote bags filled with a copy of her book and other fun goodies.

One of my favorite parts? This entire experience was FREE, making it accessible for readers and book lovers throughout our community.
