Fun Friday 6/5/26: Our Community Outreach and Marketing Teams have been busy out and about in the communities we serve!

We celebrated Cancer Survivors with Wellstar Spalding Medical Center!

We learned a lot at the Macon-Bibb Emergency Preparedness Fair and had a blast at the Henry County Senior Services Casino Night.

As always, it was a great week at Brightmoor!

Thankful Thursday 6/4/26: Each Thursday we like to highlight a member of our team that has gone above and beyond in some special way!

This weeks submission comes from Community Relations Representative: Kaley Blaisdell:

"We got a call around noon about a patient needing hospice. Around 5pm or so when I was giving the family an update the daughter let me know that the patient had had a massive decline and her breathing had started to drastically slow.

Accompanied with the fact she was already unresponsive I knew our planned admission for the following day could not wait any longer. I’d let our directors know this would need to be an emergency on call admission as soon as possible. Everyone from the team jumped on it. Before I knew it consents were done, the nurse was on her way, and ekits and supplies had been pulled. It was like the entire team knew we had to admit this patient as soon as possible. This patient ended up passing the following day. The family got to be there and see this patient comfortable and at peace compared to the restlessness and pain she was having the day before. It’s moments like that that let me sleep well at night knowing we made a positive difference in someone’s life.

Thank you Jana Smallwood for helping get someone assigned for hospice consents. Anika Hamilton for sending the fastest hospice consents ever. Misty Melton for arranging the on call nurse. Kelli Goolsby for doing the admission, education, and being there for the family at the time of this patient’s passing. Cheyanne Farmer for always getting equipment assigned and delivered timely!"
