🌟 Staff Spotlight: Amanda Pinnock, NP 🌟

At Kittson Healthcare, caring for our community means building relationships that go beyond appointments — and Amanda Pinnock has been doing just that for nearly 12 years.

Amanda first began serving the Kittson County community as a student nurse practitioner in 2013, working alongside Julie before officially joining the team as a nurse practitioner. Her passion for healthcare started long before that.

“I was inspired to work in healthcare because I grew up watching my family care for others in their professional roles. I could see their dedication to their jobs and the joy it gave them to help others, shaping the path I wanted for myself.”

Amanda believes local healthcare plays an important role in rural communities because patients deserve personalized care close to home.

“Kittson Healthcare is different from larger facilities because we truly take the time to know you and familiarize ourselves with your health conditions. We want you to be involved in your care as we guide you, empower you, and help you become a healthier version of yourself.”

When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll probably spot Amanda at the hockey arena cheering on the community. She also enjoys crafting with her Cricut machine in her free time.

You’ve probably heard by now, but today the world lost a giver.

Dolly Parton will always be remembered for her music, but her kindness reached far beyond it—including right here in Kittson County. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the Kittson County Literacy Council, local children have been among the many who received the gift of books and a love of reading.

Her life is a sweet reminder that caring for children doesn’t have to be complicated. Read together. Make time to play. Encourage healthy habits. Keep up with well-child visits. And make sure they know they have people in their corner.

That same care matters at every age. Look after your health. Check on your neighbors. Give when you can. Help when you’re able.

Dolly never forgot her rural roots, and she showed just how far a little kindness can travel.

For all of us “workin’ 9 to 5,” that’s a legacy worth carrying on. 🤍

💙 For 20 years, our community has come together for something much bigger than golf.

The Score Fore Golf Tournament has become a tradition built on generosity, friendship, and a shared commitment to keeping quality healthcare close to home.

Thanks to the incredible support of golfers, sponsors, volunteers, local businesses, donors, and the Kittson Memorial Foundation, this annual event has raised an amazing $354,400 to strengthen Kittson Healthcare and invest in the future of local care.

This year's tournament added another $25,000 toward a new walk-in therapeutic tub for Kittson Healthcare Senior Living—improving comfort, dignity, and quality of life for our residents.

🏆 Congratulations to this year's tournament champions and thank you to every team that joined us on the course!

💙 A legacy of nursing. An investment in the next generation... After working her way through nursing school, Clare Hunt earned her Registered Nursing degree from Grace Hospital in Winnipeg and joined Kittson Memorial Hospital in 1950.

She would spend the next 53 years caring for patients and families in our community.

Throughout her remarkable career, Clare served as Director of Nursing, led the obstetrical department, assisted with many labor and deliveries, and managed the surgery department. She was known for being calm, compassionate, and always ready to help someone in need.

To honor Clare’s dedication to nursing, Hugh and Pam Hunt established the Clare Hunt Memorial Scholarship through the Kittson Memorial Foundation. Today, her legacy continues by helping Kittson County residents pursue their own careers in healthcare.

Beginning in 2027, scholarship opportunities include:

🎓 One $1,000 scholarship for a graduating high school senior pursuing a career in nursing

🩺 Two $1,000 scholarships for Kittson County residents currently enrolled in a nursing program, including eligible advanced practice programs

Additional scholarships may be awarded when funds are available.

High school senior applications are accepted from January through April 15. Applications from students already enrolled in nursing or eligible advanced practice programs are accepted throughout the year.
