Sometimes, a moment of comfort can change everything. ❤️

When Jeanie Hill’s husband was in the hospital in October 2023, a Communion Minister visited him and brought him Holy Communion. He was nervous about what was happening, but that visit brought him an immediate sense of calm.

That experience stayed with Jeanie. Nearly two years ago, she became a volunteer Communion Minister so she could offer that same comfort to others.

“Being able to provide this kind of comfort and care is an honor. I’m very thankful and blessed that I have the opportunity to bring the Eucharist to others.”

Recently, Jeanie visited a patient who reached out, squeezed her hand, and simply said, “Thank you for seeing me.” It was a small moment, but one that reminded Jeanie just how meaningful this ministry can be.

Our Spiritual Care volunteers include pastors, deacons, lay ministers and members of area places of worship who feel called to give back to their local hospital by providing spiritual support to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
