It was a beautiful afternoon and a great turnout for our latest Able Table dedication! This is a new 6’ model with two longer benches and two accessible areas on each side of the table. This Able Table is located at Jonathan’s Dream, a boundless playground in West Hartford. Artist: Julie Bergeron

Today we installed an Able Table at New Horizons Village in Middlebury!

Why this one is special: this Able Table was commissioned due to a direct request from NHV residents. Of the six people that live there, 2 are in wheelchairs, 1 uses a walker, and all of them wanted a place to sit outside, gather with family and friends, and have their lunch or read a book.

Today, artist Sharon Aprea helped members of the East Windsor Senior Center paint the design they chose for their Able Table: the four seasons!

Earlier this month, Hartford HealthCare employees volunteered their time to help artist Sharon Aprea paint an Able Table for the Town of Winsted. Thank you to American Mural Project for allowing us to use their space for the activity!

Thank you, Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo, Brian Zullo, and Patrick Ganino!

The table also features a custom wildlife mural that celebrates the zoo's animals.

Today we had a ribbon tying ceremony for the Able Table at the Beardsley Zoo. The table was dedicated in honor of Gary Jessop, a longtime groundskeeper at the zoo, by his family. Special thanks to Patrick Ganino and his son Colson for donating their talent to create this beautiful mural.
