A message from Dr. Heather Calkins πŸ’š

"Mental Health Awareness month may be coming to a close, but at Wabi Sabi, our doors, ears, and hearts remain open year-round. We understand that the first step in seeking help can feel like the hardestβ€” with uncertainty and fear standing as two of the biggest obstacles. Just remember that we see reaching out for support as one of the bravest things you can do for yourself and your family."

Mental Health Awareness Month πŸ’š

It is very important to speak openly about supporting others. To encourage them to share their stories, seek care, and ultimately treat their mental health with the same importance as physical health. Many people do not seek care for their mental health due to the negative beliefs in society surrounding mental illness. Having genuine support is crucial to fighting that stigma.

Mental Health Awareness Month! πŸ’š

Challenging stigma can also help combat misinformation. Reading and sharing facts from trusted sources like the National Institute of Mental Health can positively impact stigma. It can also help people struggling with their mental health see that you are a trustworthy and safe person with whom they can share their stories and struggles.
