Many are navigating back to school with their children - and transitions are rarely easy! We are thinking of you and the challenges that come with them. 💙

We are also acknowledging the parents whose children never made it to their first day of school. We understand that tug in your heart when you see the back-to-school photos and we want to remind you there are many of us walking this journey. You are not alone, even when your grief feels invisible and isolating. Your grief is valid.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month and we are gathering for our annual Wave of Light on October 15th at 7 pm to honor those navigating grief in parenting.

Whether you are the one experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, the loss of a baby or child, or another path of grief connected to parenthood, you are welcome here. We also invite anyone who might not have experienced this type of loss but wants to come and stand alongside those who carry their children quietly in their hearts.

New this year: we are including an option to have your child's name on a luminary we will set up for you during the event.

Don't forget to join us on Tuesday September 1st at 5:15 for family night and 7 grandfather teachings education.
The 7 grandfather teachings originated from the Anishinaabe people, they were given as a gift from Gizhe-Manidoo to help watch over humanity as we move through life's cycles. As the Grandfathers witnessed us struggling each sent a helper who could teach us to learn how to live and grow in harmony with all creation.
Now days the 7 grandfather teachings have been adopted by many tribes across turtle island as guiding principles to living life in a good way. While we lead up to Tuesdays family night talk among your family about how you can show eachother examples of each teaching in every day life.

We are so excited for the Back to School Bash that is coming up August 29 from 3 to 5pm. We have free carousel rides, activities from ExplorationWorks, and so many more, corn hole, coloring, crafts, bubbles, hula hoops.. The list goes on and on! Plus all the best family support organizations in Helena. Come let your kids have a blast while you find out about the supports available to you as a parent!

Helena Indian Alliance is celebrating with their annual Back to School Bash tomorrow - Friday August 7th from 11-3.

St. Peter's Health is hosting their Family Fun Fest on Saturday August 8th from 8:30-12.

The Rocking Tree Farm with many partners is offering the opportunity to honor anyone that has passed on Saturday August 8th at 10 am.

We love how our community continues to come together for children and families. We hope to see you this weekend.
