Better sleep starts before your head hits the pillow.
If you’re struggling with sleep, focus on your daily rhythm first:
☀️ Get morning light
Aim for natural light soon after waking to help regulate your circadian rhythm.
☕ Set a caffeine cutoff
Caffeine can stay in your system for hours. Try avoiding it in the afternoon or at least 6–8 hours before bedtime.
🌙 Create a wind-down routine
Dim the lights, reduce screen time, and give your brain time to transition from “doing” to “resting.”
🕰️ Keep a consistent schedule
Going to bed and waking up around the same time each day can help reinforce your body’s natural sleep-wake rhythm.
🧘🏻♀️ Help your nervous system slow down
Try slow breathing, gentle stretching, reading, or another calming activity before bed.
🛏️ Make your bedroom sleep-friendly
Cool, dark, quiet, and comfortable is the goal.
🍽️ Pay attention to meal timing
Large or heavy meals close to bedtime may interfere with sleep for some people. Give yourself some time to digest before lying down.
Good sleep isn’t just about getting more hours. It’s about creating the conditions that allow your body to recognize when it’s time to rest.
If sleep problems are persistent, severe, or affecting your daytime functioning, it’s worth looking deeper into the underlying cause.
