It’s amazing how much grace we’re willing to extend to other people for things we still judge ourselves for years later.

You look back now and see someone who was learning, trying, surviving, figuring things out with the information they had at the time. Yet when you’re remembering your own life, it’s easy to focus on what you should have known, should have done, or should have handled differently.

Sometimes healing isn’t changing the past. It’s finally seeing an older version of yourself with the same understanding you would offer someone else.
