SYMBOLISM THIS WEEK: I've been grieving. A few days ago I watched one of the most beautiful properties in this city get torn down. At least 10 mature trees… oaks, maple, magnolia, dogwood… some between 30 and 200 years old... GONE.

We are in Quincy, Massachusetts. The city of presidents. The ground where this country's origin story was shaped… where the arguments for revolution were made… where the roots of what became America ran deep.

LET THAT SINK IN

Last fall we just cut down these beautiful trees that made this property one of the most beautiful leaving nothing but dirt left ... no tree. no shrub. no flower. no grass left.

This week, watching that house fall felt like more than demolition. It felt like a mirror. For what we are dismantling right now. For what is being lost before we know how to grieve it. For the in-between world so many of us are standing inside of this week.

June arrives with a different rhythm.

Many of us are sitting in what I've been calling "The In Between" on the podcast lately... that sacred, often uncomfortable space between what was and what is becoming. The door behind you has closed. The one ahead hasn't fully opened yet. It is where certainty dissolves, identities shift and the future stays quiet.

Our culture wants us to skip this part. We want quick answers. Immediate healing. Constant forward motion, but nature doesn't work that way. Seeds germinate in the dark before they ever break through. The caterpillar fully dissolves before the butterfly exists. Grief, transformation, healing... they all have their own timing. They don't negotiate with our calendars.

I've been witnessing this theme everywhere lately, AND I have been personally experiencing this myself.

In much of my recent Substack writing, I've been sitting with what happens when we lose the capacity to truly hold space for ourselves and for one another. We live in a time that rewards performance over presence, certainty over curiosity, the polished answer over the honest I don't know. And yet... some of the deepest healing I've ever witnessed has come not from forcing an outcome, but from learning to stay with what is still unfolding.

The invitation this month is not to rush.

We've been discussing in our groups and classes how her Spirit is very strong right now in 2026 if folks dare to align with her.

Imagine a world of everyday folks aligned with the Morrígan against the billionaire Epi-penstein class.

🕯️ The Morrígan - War, Fate, and Sovereignty in Early Irish Literature

The Morrígan is one of the most complex figures in surviving early Irish mythology. Her name is often interpreted as “great queen” or “phantom queen,” though its exact meaning remains uncertain and debated by scholars.

She appears most prominently in the Táin Bó Cúailnge, where she encounters Cú Chulainn before battle. After he rejects her offer of aid, she later interferes with him in different forms, including an eel, a wolf, and a heifer. Near the end of his life, she is also associated with the image of the washer at the ford - a traditional sign of approaching death in Irish narrative tradition.

The surviving texts present the Morrígan less as a simple deity of destruction and more as a figure connected to conflict, prophecy, sovereignty, and the outcome of battle.

What survives today comes through medieval Irish manuscripts written by Christian scribes, preserving older traditions within a literary and monastic framework rather than as direct records of pre-Christian belief.

Modern portrayals often reshape the Morrígan into a fantasy “dark goddess.” The earliest Irish sources, however, present a far more layered and unsettling figure rooted in the mythic storytelling world of early Ireland.

What a potent portal in time and space this weekend's Jikiden Reiki training became.

As we gathered to learn, practice, and deepen our understanding of Reiki, the forces of nature seemed to have their own teachings to offer. A powerful storm swept through our region, bringing wind gusts reaching 62 mph in Hingham, MA.

Rain fell heavily, the skies shifted dramatically, and we even experienced the startling sonic boom of what has been reported as a meteor passing overhead.

Just outside my door, my neighbor lost a beloved tree estimated to be more than 250 years old. Witnessing its fall was both sobering and symbolic. There was sadness in its loss and also a reminder that transformation often arrives before we fully understand its purpose.

The Japanese have long understood that nature is not backdrop. It is the teacher. Jikiden Reiki, rooted in the original teachings in Japan, carries this understanding in its very bones.

Wind, rain, earth, and sky are not interruptions to the practice. This weekend, they were the practice. We even stepped outside into the rain, as a Miko (female shaman) would, to receive the blessings of the gods.

Most of all, I am filled with gratitude. To spend this time with two beautiful souls, witnessing their growth, dedication, and willingness to step more fully into the Reiki teachings, was an absolute gift. Moments like these remind me why I continue this work after all these years.

Thank you for allowing me to witness your journeys, your courage, your questions, your insights, and your unfolding. Thank you for witnessing me as well. The teacher and the student are never separate from the experience. We learn, grow, and transform together.

The storm may have passed, but the teachings, connections, and blessings of this weekend will remain.
