🌸 Made With Love, One Fingerprint at a Time 🌸

Today our residents got a little paint on their fingertips and a whole lot of love on paper! 💕 In preparation for Grandparents Day, we created fingerprint paintings that our residents can give to their loved ones when they come to visit.

I brought along a few examples for inspiration, but our residents took those ideas and completely made them their own—and the results were so much more beautiful than I ever imagined! 🎨🌷 Every painting was different, every one had its own personality, and each was created by the hands of someone very special.

The best part was seeing the pride on their faces as they held up their finished artwork. 🥰 These may be simple fingerprints on paper, but to the families who receive them, we hope they become little keepsakes of the hands—and the people—they love so dearly.

We can’t wait to share these handmade treasures with our families on Grandparents Day! 💐❤️

Sometimes a scenic ride becomes so much more. ❤️

Our residents set out for a beautiful drive to Shelton Cemetery, a destination specifically requested by two of our residents, and along the way, the afternoon turned into a journey through memories.

We made a special stop at the former home of one of our residents, where she was able to take pictures and share stories about the life she once lived there. When we arrived at Shelton Cemetery, another resident shared an incredible piece of her family history. She has loved ones resting there, and just beyond the shoreline are lands that once belonged to her grandmother before the area was flooded following the construction of the TVA dams.

Looking out across the water, hearing these stories, and seeing familiar places through the eyes of the people who remember them made this ride incredibly special. 💙

It’s amazing how something as simple as getting on the bus and going for a drive can become an opportunity to revisit home, honor family, share history, and bring treasured memories back to life.

These are the moments that remind us why the journey matters just as much as the destination. 🚌❤️

☀️ Good Food, Sweet Treats & a Beautiful Day on the River! 🍦💙

Our Assisted Living residents enjoyed an absolutely delicious day out in Chattanooga! We started with a wonderful lunch at Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar, enjoying great food, even better company, and beautiful views of the Tennessee River. 🌊

After lunch, no outing this good could end without dessert, so we made our way to Cold Stone Creamery for a sweet treat! 🍨

With blue skies, a perfect breeze off the river, plenty of laughter, and full bellies, it was one of those days that was simply meant to be enjoyed. Good food is always better when it’s shared with good friends—and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure together! ❤️☀️

☀️ Croquet Under a Blue Summer Sky! 🌿

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to get outside! Our Assisted Living residents took advantage of what may just have been the nicest summer day we’ve had all year with a friendly game of croquet in the courtyard. 💙

There was plenty of sunshine, a little friendly competition, and lots of encouragement as everyone made their way around the course. Days like this remind us that sometimes the best moments are the simplest ones—good weather, good company, and a little fun together.

We’ll take a few more summer days like this one, please! ☀️🌿🏑💛

📚 A Little Library Adventure! 📚

Our Memory Care residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to the Northgate Branch of the Chattanooga Public Library, where they spent time browsing the shelves, flipping through books and magazines, and discovering whatever happened to catch their interest. ❤️

Sometimes the simplest outings make for the best days. A change of scenery, familiar pages, interesting discoveries, and time spent together gave us plenty to enjoy. We love creating opportunities for our residents to stay connected to the community, follow their curiosity, and experience the simple pleasures that make each day meaningful.

There’s always something new to discover—especially at the library! 📖✨

🌎✈️ What an AMAZING Race it has been! ☘️💚

After traveling the world together all week, our Amazing Race has officially crossed the finish line—and what a journey it has been! From Egypt to the Amazon Rainforest, Japan, Italy, and finally Ireland, we have laughed, competed, tried new things, and made so many wonderful memories along the way.

And we absolutely have to give a huge shoutout to our incredible Culinary Team! 👏❤️ They worked so hard to make each stop on our journey come to life through food. Every day brought a completely different menu inspired by that day’s destination, and every meal was unique, creative, and absolutely delicious! It was easy to see how much thought, effort, and heart they put into making each dining experience special for our residents. They didn’t just serve meals—they helped make the entire Amazing Race experience feel that much more memorable. 🍽️🌎❤️

One of the most special parts of our journey was welcoming our residents’ families and loved ones for our Amazing Race Family Luncheon. It was such a joy to serve the people who mean so much to our residents and to see families gathered together, sharing a wonderful meal, taking pictures, laughing, and simply enjoying time with one another. ❤️

Today, we made our final stop in Ireland! 🇮🇪☘️ We tested our luck with an Irish coin toss and wrapped up the festivities with an Irish-themed happy hour—the perfect ending to an unforgettable week!

At StoryPoint Hixson, weeks like this are about so much more than activities on a calendar. They’re about creating experiences that bring people together, give our residents something exciting to look forward to, and—most importantly—give residents and their loved ones opportunities to make lasting memories together. 💚

To our residents, families, loved ones, and every team member who poured their time, creativity, and heart into this adventure: thank you for making our Amazing Race truly AMAZING! 🌎❤️

The race may be over, but the memories we made along the way will travel with us for a long time to come. ✈️🧳✨

🎨 Celebrating the Art—and the Heart—of Mr. Bob Waller ❤️

Today was such a special day at StoryPoint Hixson as we had the privilege of showcasing the beautiful artwork of our very own Mr. Bob Waller.

Mr. Waller is an incredibly talented artist, and seeing so many of his pieces displayed together gave us a wonderful glimpse into his talent, creativity, and the life and people that have inspired him through the years. It was even more meaningful to see his family, friends, and fellow residents enjoying his work and celebrating right alongside him.

But as beautiful as his artwork is, Mr. Waller’s greatest masterpiece may just be the life he has created. He is not only a gifted artist, but also a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, wonderful neighbor, and treasured friend.

We feel incredibly lucky to have both Mr. Waller and his wonderful wife as part of our StoryPoint Hixson family. They bring so much warmth, kindness, and joy to our community, and today gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate someone who means so much to so many.

Thank you, Mr. Waller, for sharing your beautiful talent—and a little piece of your heart—with all of us. We are so proud to call you one of our own. ❤️🎨

🇯🇵 The Amazing Race: Destination JAPAN! 🇯🇵

Our passports were stamped for another adventure today as The Amazing Race took us to Japan! ✈️🌏 And from start to finish, this stop was filled with great food, friendly competition, lots of laughs, and a few new skills!

🥢 We began our journey with a delicious Japanese-inspired lunch featuring spring rolls, shrimp stir-fry, and chicken hibachi—the perfect fuel for the challenges ahead!

🎣 Then it was time to put our skills to the test with a Koi Fishing Competition! Our residents showed some serious patience, determination, and fishing finesse as they tried to reel in their catch.

🥢 Next came the Chopstick Challenge, where we discovered that mastering chopsticks may look easier than it actually is! 😂 There was plenty of concentration, encouragement, and laughter around the table.

🍡 And what better way to finish our visit to Japan than with a mochi tasting? Trying something new is half the fun of traveling—even when your travels are happening right here at home!

Another country, another adventure, and another day full of memories! ❤️ We are having so much fun seeing where The Amazing Race takes us next! 🌎✈️

Next stop… who knows?! 🧳✨

🌿🦜 The Amazing Race took us into the RAINFOREST today! 🦜🌿

Our rainforest adventure was a full-day experience! Memory Care kicked off the morning with a scenic “safari” to Enterprise South, enjoying the sights and scenery before returning home for the next stop on our journey. 🚐🌳

At lunchtime, our culinary team took us on an adventure of their own with “Storizio”—our StoryPoint spin on Rodizio-style dining! Residents feasted on brisket, lobster, grilled pineapple, and so many other delicious offerings. 🥩🦞🍍 Talk about traveling the world without ever leaving the table!

Then our Assisted Living residents headed out on an afternoon “safari” to Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center, and what an experience it was! 🌳🦅 We got an up-close introduction to Thor, a beautiful red-tailed hawk, and learned about another Thor—their sandhill crane—as our guides shared fascinating information about the animals, their habitats, and the important work being done to care for them.

We also learned about some of the other incredible residents of Reflection Riding, including their bald eagle, bobcat, red wolves, barn owl, and various snakes. 🦅🐺🦉🐍 Our residents had plenty of questions and soaked up every bit of information!

Surrounded by the trees, listening to the sounds of nature and getting such an incredible look at wildlife, we couldn’t have asked for a better setting for our Amazing Race rainforest adventure. 🌿💚

From a morning safari to an unforgettable meal and an afternoon spent among the animals, this was one Amazing Race stop we won’t soon forget! 🌎✈️
