Here are a few simple steps that can make a big difference:

📸 Take a Photo of Any Error Message
If an error appears on the screen, take a picture before it disappears. Error codes provide valuable clues that help engineers identify the issue before they even arrive.

🕒 Record the Date and Time
Knowing exactly when the problem occurred allows engineers to match error logs and identify patterns that may point to the root cause.

🩺 Document What You Were Doing
What exam were you performing? Which probe and preset were you using? The more context you provide, the easier it is to reproduce and diagnose the issue.

🏥 Note Anything Unusual

Understanding ultrasound isn't just about what you see on the screen—it's about knowing which imaging mode gives you the answers you need.

Every ultrasound exam begins in **B-Mode (Brightness Mode)**, the grayscale image that allows clinicians to evaluate anatomy. Different tissues appear in different shades of gray, while fluid-filled structures appear black. This is the foundation for assessing organ size, structure, and tissue characteristics.

When it's time to evaluate blood flow, Color Doppler comes into play. Color Doppler displays the direction of blood flow within vessels, helping clinicians assess circulation and identify abnormalities. Understanding the color scale is especially important during vascular studies, such as carotid ultrasound examinations.

To measure **how fast blood is moving**, clinicians use **Pulsed Wave Doppler**. This mode samples a specific location within a vessel and provides velocity information that helps evaluate blood flow and detect narrowing or other vascular conditions.

For high-velocity blood flow, particularly in cardiac imaging, Continuous Wave Doppler is the preferred tool. Instead of measuring one small point, it samples along the entire ultrasound beam, allowing clinicians to accurately assess faster-moving blood.

Finally, Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI) measures the movement of heart muscle rather than blood flow. It has become an important part of modern echocardiography, providing valuable information that helps evaluate heart function, including signs of diastolic dysfunction.

Choosing the right ultrasound mode at the right time is what transforms an image into meaningful clinical information.
