After 30 years of relying on glasses and contacts, Tracey is seeing the world in a whole new way. 👓✨
Before her procedure, Tracey had a prescription of approximately -8.00, meaning that without corrective lenses, even everyday moments depended on having her glasses or contacts nearby.

Keratoconus can begin at a young age — and because it can progress over time, early detection is especially important for keiki and teens. 👁️

Keratoconus causes the cornea to thin and change shape, which can lead to blurred or distorted vision. For younger patients, these changes may affect everything from seeing the board at school to participating in everyday activities.

If your child is experiencing blurry vision, frequent prescription changes or difficulty seeing clearly, the first step is to schedule an eye exam with your local optometrist. They can evaluate whether glasses or another vision correction option may be needed and look for signs that could require further evaluation.
If there are concerning signs of keratoconus, your optometrist can refer your child to Jenkins Eye Care for a comprehensive keratoconus evaluation.
