✏️ Supplies delivered, with aloha! 🎒

The Plaza at Pearl City held a school supply drive for Lehua Elementary School — and what a haul! Backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, and disinfecting wipes, all hand-delivered to the Lehua ohana for the new school year.

Mahalo to the Lehua Elementary staff for welcoming us, and to everyone at PCT who donated to make it happen. Supporting the keiki in our own neighborhood is what it’s all about. 🌺

Here’s to a great school year ahead, Lehua Elementary!

🍡 Marshmallows + spaghetti = engineering! 📐

Our residents at The Plaza at Kāne’ohe took on the classic STEM challenge: using only marshmallows and dry spaghetti noodles, build the tallest structure you can.

There was real strategy at that table — wide bases, triangles for strength, and plenty of trial and error as towers wobbled and came back stronger. High fives all around when one finally stood tall! 🙌

And for a few of our residents, the winning strategy was simply… eat the marshmallows. Honestly? Also a great outcome. 😄

💃 A resident favorite: Dancing with Del! 🎵

Ask our residents at The Plaza at Kāne’ohe what’s on the calendar and this is the one they name. Del brings the music, the moves, and the aloha — and the whole room follows along, hula hands and all.

Everyone dances at their own pace, right from their chair, and nobody needs experience. Some folks sway, some folks go full out, and everyone leaves smiling.

Mahalo, Del, for keeping us moving! 🌺

💪 A good way to start a morning 🌿

Pool noodles, a little music, and a room full of smiles — morning exercise is one of the best parts of the day at Hali’a Kāne’ohe. Our kupuna reach, stretch, and pass the noodle side to side, keeping shoulders loose, hands strong, and spirits up.

Our team is trained in the Best Friends™ approach, so exercise here is never one-size-fits-all. We meet every resident as a friend first — knowing their story, their pace, and what makes them laugh — and adapt each movement so everyone can take part from their own chair and feel successful doing it.

Seated exercise does more than move the body. It wakes up the morning, sparks conversation, and gives our residents something to look forward to together. 💜

Our Moanalua team came together for a school supply drive supporting Makalapa Elementary School — crayons, colored pencils, paper, notebooks, tissues, and box after box of classroom essentials.

Mahalo to the Makalapa PTA for welcoming us, and to everyone at MOA who donated to make it happen. Supporting the keiki right here in our own neighborhood is what it’s all about. 🌺

Here’s to a great school year ahead, Makalapa!

🥁 Ryugen Taiko brought the thunder to Moanalua!

Our activity room came alive as the drummers of Ryugen Taiko (龍眼太鼓) performed for our residents — booming rhythms, bold energy, and a whole lot of heart. You don’t just hear taiko, you feel it right in your chest! ✨

Mahalo to Ryugen Taiko for sharing your art and your aloha with our ohana. 🔥

🌺 Painting the flowers of home 🎨

Our Hali’a residents at Kāne’ohe had a wonderful day painting and stenciling Hawaiian flowers! From bright orange lei on ocean blue to golden blossoms on garden green, every piece came out beautifully — and completely one of a kind.

This is what memory care looks like at Hali’a. Our team is trained in the Best Friends™ approach — meeting every resident as a friend first, knowing their life story, and using that to guide each day. Paired with small groups and familiar surroundings, it means our activities are designed so every resident, at every stage, can take part and succeed. Stenciling gives our kupuna a starting point; the colors and the choices are all theirs.

Creative arts do so much here. They spark long-held memories of lei making and island gardens, they give our residents something to be proud of, and they open the door to conversation and connection with the people beside them. The name Hali’a means a cherished memory — and days like this are exactly why. 💜

🚌 No car keys. No parking. No problem.

Scheduled transportation is included at The Plaza at Moanalua — and at all six of our communities across Oahu! Our vans and drivers get residents where they need to go: doctor appointments, errands, shopping runs, and group outings around the island. Just hop on.

It’s one less thing to worry about, and one more reason to enjoy the ride. 🌺

🀄 MOA Mahjong, the bettah! 🀄

Mahjong has become the heartbeat of Moanalua! Every single day, our residents gather in the activity room to shuffle, build the wall, and call their tiles. It’s friendly rivalry, big laughs, and even bigger ohana — one game at a time.

Some might say… MOA Mahjong, MOA bettah. 😉

Our Joy Ambassadors came to visit Hālia! Meet Shiloh & Poppy

We are so lucky to have had Shiloh and Poppy stop by! Our residents lit up as they cuddled, pet, and shared aloha with these two wonderful Joy Ambassadors from the Hawaiian Humane Society. There’s no feeling quite like it — because a dog is truly a man’s best friend. 🐾

Mahalo, Shiloh and Poppy. Come back soon!
