📸 One month later, and we're still celebrating the incredible success of the 2026 Alabama Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk & Celebration!

Because of the dedication of our walkers, teams, volunteers, patients, families, corporate sponsors, and community supporters, this year's Montgomery Kidney Walk was our largest and most successful event yet. 💚

A special thank you to our 2026 Walk Chairs, Will & Kelly Wilson with Jim Wilson and Associates, and Patient Chair Michael McCurry, Lead Pastor at Unity Worship Center & support from his wife Tammie McCurry for their leadership and commitment, and to our generous corporate sponsors whose support helped make this record-breaking event possible.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and onsite vendors who joined us at the 2026 Birmingham Kidney Walk. Your support, energy, and presence helped make the day meaningful and enjoyable for everyone who attended.

Together, we raised more than $170,000 to support the mission of the Alabama Kidney Foundation and to continue serving kidney patients across Alabama.

Yesterday, we celebrated with Vulcan Materials Company, whose team - Walking on Sunshine- won the Team T-Shirt Competition at the Birmingham Kidney Walk! 🎉👕🍕

To mark their win, the team enjoyed an AKF-sponsored pizza party.

We were told to expect storms…
So of course, the sun showed up instead.
April 25th in the Shoals felt like one of those days you wish you could bottle. And YOU made it that way.

Because of this community, we didn’t just have our largest Kidney Walk ever…
we broke our own record — $307,000+ raised & counting.
Let that sink in for a second.

Kids running the field, footballs flying with University of North Alabama players, the Beat Squad from Florence High bringing the energy, Chick-fil-A biscuits disappearing faster than we could set them down, and a silent auction that honestly outdid itself this year.

But the best part will always be our people.
Our teams keep growing.

Our volunteers somehow get better every year (seriously, how?).
And our donors—big and small, every bit of it adding up to make this kind of impact possible.

And the heart behind this event keeps getting stronger.

A huge thank you to our Walk Chair, Dr. Paul, for leading and always taking the time to teach and guide.

And to our Patient Chair, Rebecca Siery, for showing up, speaking up, and reminding us why this matters.
