Voting can bring a lot to the surface. Especially when you and your partner see the world from a different point of view.

For some couples, political differences are something they've learned to discuss openly.

For others . . . not so much.

In our FREE webinar replay, “Disagreeing Without Damage: How Politically Mixed Couples Can Stay Connected Without Compromising Values,” Dr. Rachel Floyd explores how couples can better understand the emotions and values beneath political disagreements.

You don't always have to agree to find better ways to communicate as a couple.

Sleeping separately doesn’t have to mean growing apart. 💤

Same bedroom. Same bed. Same bedtime: we tend to associate those things with a healthy relationship.

But that isn’t how you measure closeness.

🤎 For some couples, getting the rest you need (even separately) can foster more patience, affection, energy, and emotional availability when you’re actually awake together.

True rest AND connection starts with talking openly about what you both need and finding a rhythm that makes room for empathy, understanding, and support.

Sometimes anxiety in a relationship doesn’t actually look like anxiety.

It looks like: planning, reminding, researching, problem-solving, and trying to stay one step ahead.

But when one partner feels an urgency to figure it out now and the other wants to wait and see, an everyday concern can quickly turn into conflict.

Read “How Anxiety Affects Relationships: When Worry and Problem-Solving Create Conflict” on the blog . . . and learn how to understand what’s happening beneath the disagreement. You can find it on our website!

When your need for a little alone time to recharge leaves your partner running on empty, it can sometimes cause friction.

It’s perfectly normal for you and your partner to have different needs when it comes to your preferences around alone time and connection, but in relationships where these differences lie, sometimes one person’s need for disconnection can really affect the other’s need for connection.

If you need a little support in navigating these differences, we’re here for you. Schedule a FREE consultation by commenting "Schedule".

Therapy can be one of the best things you can do for your relationship.

But too often than not, it seems as though just as you and your partner are beginning to feel a shift in-session . . . time’s up.

🤎 A couples therapy intensive creates space to go deeper, and it might be just the solution your relationship needs.

In the blog, “Is a Couples Therapy Intensive Right For You? A Guide for Houston Couples”, we walk through what an intensive actually looks like and how to know whether this more concentrated approach might be right for your relationship.
