Today, we remember. ❤️

Memorial Day holds a special meaning here at The Tradition. Within our walls are residents who served, families who watched their loved ones go - and come home, or not come home. Team members who traded a uniform for a new calling: caring for those who came before us.

We are honored to be a place where those stories are told, where service is respected, and where the lives of those who sacrificed are celebrated every day.

To every veteran, Gold Star family, and military spouse in our community - we see you today, and always.

May we never forget the ones who gave so much. 🙏

These residents didn’t need a trip to Space Center Houston to prove they’re out of this world…but they went anyway. 😊

They had a fantastic time exploring the past, present, and future of space exploration. And Houston, we can confidently report there were no problems during this visit…just smiles.

In the midst of honoring the mothers in our community, we neglected to pause and say it here - and that simply won't do.

To every mother who calls The Tradition home, and to every woman who has given of herself to raise, nurture, and shape the lives around her: Happy Mother's Day. The celebration may have come and gone, but our gratitude is enduring.

According to a recent article in the New York Post, a growing body of research continues to highlight something families often sense intuitively: meaningful social connection plays an important role in the health and well-being of older adults.

A recent study examining more than 10,000 adults between the ages of 65 and 94 found that individuals who reported higher levels of loneliness performed worse on memory tests at the beginning of the study.

While participants experienced similar rates of memory change over time, researchers noted that loneliness appeared to influence baseline memory performance, suggesting that social engagement may play an important role in cognitive health long before memory concerns become more visible.

For older adults and their families, these findings reinforce an important idea: the environments we choose and the opportunities they provide for connection can influence how we age. Communities designed around social engagement can make a meaningful difference.
