Some yoga classes strengthen your body. Some calm your mind. This one has the power to change a life.

Join us on Saturday, June 13th for a special Shelter Pet Yoga event benefiting the animals of the Animal Welfare League (AWL). For just a $10 donation, you’ll enjoy an all-levels yoga class while helping provide food, shelter, medical care, love, and second chances to animals waiting for their forever homes.

Imagine flowing through your practice surrounded by adorable, adoptable shelter pets who are simply looking for kindness, connection, and a place to call home. Whether you’re an experienced yogi or stepping onto a mat for the very first time, this class is designed for everyone.

🌿 Yin Yang Flow | 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM 🌿

Have you ever noticed that life requires both effort and ease?

Strength and surrender.
Action and stillness.
Doing and being.

That is the essence of Yin Yang Flow.

Unlike many yoga classes that focus primarily on movement or relaxation, Yin Yang Flow intentionally combines both. We begin by awakening the body through mindful movement, building heat, circulation, balance, and strength. The Yang portion stimulates muscles, enhances joint stability, improves coordination, and helps cultivate resilience.

Then something remarkable happens.

We slow down.

The Yin portion invites us into longer-held postures where gravity becomes the teacher. Rather than working the muscles, we begin to access the deeper connective tissues—fascia, ligaments, tendons, and joint capsules. These tissues respond differently than muscle and benefit from sustained, mindful stress that helps maintain mobility, hydration, and healthy movement patterns throughout the body.

But the practice goes deeper than anatomy.

As the body becomes still, the nervous system begins to shift. Breathing slows. Mental chatter softens. The constant pressure to perform, achieve, and hurry begins to dissolve.

At 5:30 PM, we begin with Strength & Stretch.

Imagine feeling powerful in your body again. Strong legs. A steady core. Muscles working, breathing deeply, moving with purpose. This class blends strength, mobility, and mindful movement to help you build resilience—not just physically, but mentally. You’ll leave feeling energized, accomplished, and more connected to what your body is capable of.

Then, at 6:45 PM, the energy shifts…

Welcome to Yin Untangled.

The lights soften. The pace slows. Bolsters cradle the body. Blankets create comfort. Blocks provide support. There is nowhere to rush and nothing to achieve.

You settle into long-held postures, allowing the deeper tissues of the body to release what has been quietly accumulating all week—stress, tension, mental clutter, emotional fatigue.

It’s less about stretching your muscles and more about untangling your nervous system.

Sundays at The Village Yoga Community 🌿

The studio is quiet today.
The lights are dimmed.
The mats are rolled up.
And sometimes… that is part of the practice too.

At The Village Yoga Community, Sundays are reserved for rest, reconnection, and creating space before the rhythm of another week begins again.

Yoga does not only happen on the mat.
Sometimes yoga looks like:
☀️ Sitting quietly in the sunshine with your morning coffee
🐾 Taking slower breaths while walking slower with your dog
📖 Reading a few pages of a book without rushing
🌿 Cooking a nourishing meal
