Why does EVERYTHING feel like too much lately?

The noise.
The questions.
The notifications.
The clutter.
The constant demands.

If you feel like you’re getting irritated faster, shutting down, wanting everyone to stop talking to you, or needing to escape just to reset… you may be experiencing overstimulation.

Overstimulation can be connected to:

• Anxiety
• ADHD
• Poor sleep
• Burnout
• Depression
• Chronic stress
• Sensory sensitivities

If you’ve been thinking, “Why am I suddenly so irritated by everything?” or “Why does everything feel so loud lately?” there may be more going on underneath the surface.

✨ Mental health symptoms don’t always look like sadness or panic. Sometimes they look like being completely overwhelmed by everyday life.

Your mental health doesn’t have to reach a crisis point before it deserves attention.

Medication doesn’t change who you are.
It helps regulate what feels overwhelming and allows you to feel like yourself again.

When used appropriately, it can help improve mood, focus, sleep, and anxiety.

The goal is stability, not numbness.

Anxiety isn’t just “worrying.”

It can show up in ways people don’t always recognize:

• Constant overthinking
• Trouble sleeping
• Physical symptoms like a racing heart or stomach aches
• Avoiding situations that feel overwhelming
• Feeling on edge or unable to relax

Anxiety is common, but when it becomes persistent or starts affecting your daily life, it’s something you don’t have to manage alone.

Support is available, and treatment can help.

ADHD vs Anxiety

They can look very similar but the cause can be different.

ADHD involves difficulty with attention regulation, organization, and follow-through.

Anxiety involves excessive worry, overthinking, and feeling on edge.

Both can cause:
• trouble concentrating
• restlessness
• irritability

Sometimes they occur together, which can make it even harder to tell the difference.

That’s why a proper evaluation matters.

“But you seem fine.”

Depression doesn’t always look like someone who can’t get out of bed. Many people continue working, caring for others, and meeting expectations while quietly battling exhaustion, low mood, irritability, or loss of motivation.

Mental health struggles don’t always look the way we expect.

Is it normal teenage emotions… or depression?

Adolescence is a time of big emotional changes. Mood swings, frustration, and feeling overwhelmed can all be a normal part of growing up.

But sometimes emotional changes may signal something more than typical teenage stress.

Here are a few signs that it may be more than normal mood swings:

• Persistent sadness or irritability
• Loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed
• Changes in sleep or appetite
• Difficulty concentrating or falling grades
• Withdrawing from friends or family

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 1 in 5 adolescents experience a major depressive episode before adulthood.

If emotional or behavioral changes last for weeks, worsen, or start affecting school, relationships, or daily life, it may be helpful to seek a professional evaluation.

Early support can make a significant difference.
