May is Stroke Awareness Month

Every 40 seconds, someone experiences a stroke — and recognizing the signs quickly can save a life.

Remember the warning signs with BE FAST:

🅱️ Balance – sudden loss of balance or coordination
👀 Eyes – sudden vision changes
🙂 Face – facial drooping or uneven smile
💪 Arm – weakness or numbness in one arm
🗣️ Speech – slurred speech or difficulty speaking
⏰ Time – call 911 immediately

At Magnolia Neuro Rehab, we are passionate about helping individuals rebuild strength, regain independence, and return to the activities that matter most after neurological injury.

Recovery does not stop after the hospital — support, therapy, and hope continue here.

Next up is Cristina, our Physical Therapist here at Magnolia Neuro Rehab! We’re excited for you to get to know her better — here’s a little about her 👇

After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, I’ve had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of patient populations across neurological and orthopedic settings. While I enjoy the diversity of outpatient rehabilitation, my true passion is working with neurological patients and helping them regain confidence, independence, and function in their everyday lives. I’m passionate about problem solving individualized treatment plans that truly fit each patient’s needs, while making sure their goals are heard, valued, and prioritized throughout their care. I strive to create a positive and encouraging environment where patients feel supported as they work toward improving their ability to live life to the fullest!

Meet Shelly ✨
We’re so excited to welcome Shelly to the team! Shelly is an amazing COTA who brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for patient care. Her dedication and positive energy make her a wonderful addition to our clinic.
Here’s what Shelly has to say 👇

“I specialize in bridging the gap between clinical therapy and functional wellness. With a dual background in Occupational Therapy and Yoga, I focus on helping patients in outpatient neuro rehab regain autonomy through purposeful movement. I am passionate about adapting yoga practices to meet the unique needs of those recovering from neurological challenges, ensuring that every patient—regardless of their starting point—can experience the benefits of mobility and mindfulness. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone move better so they can live better.”
