One final invitation 🧡

On August 21st, we begin our annual Grow Yoga Practice and 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training.

And by spring, a group of people who said yes to themselves will walk out of the Inward Room different than they walked in.

Some will teach yoga. Some may never teach a class.

But all of them will have spent these months practicing, learning, being challenged, becoming more present, finding their voice, strengthening their leadership, and discovering things about themselves they simply could not have known from where they stand today.

I know it’s easy to think, “Maybe next year.”

When work is quieter.
When the kids are older.
When the finances feel easier.
When life finally gives you the perfect opening.

But the timing will probably never be perfect.

And sometimes the clarity we’re waiting for doesn’t come before the decision.

Sometimes the clarity comes because we made the decision.

I know that because it happened to me.

When I enrolled in my first 200-hour training, I had no intention of becoming a yoga teacher. I certainly didn’t know I would open Grow Yoga.

The training didn’t prepare me for a path I had already chosen.

It revealed paths I could not yet see.

So if there’s a part of you that has been quietly wondering whether this is your year, this is me asking you one last time:

What are you waiting for?

You don’t have to know exactly who you’ll be on the other side.

You just have to be willing to meet them.

Our 200-Hour Grow Yoga Practice & Teacher Training begins August 21st and graduates this spring.

This is the final opportunity to join us.

Sierra’s accomplished a lot in a relatively short amount of time through staying focused on her growth.

Sierra started her journey at Grow in our earliest days. She jumped into her practice head first and practiced almost every day, offering her support to the studio and our community at every turn.

During her first year at Grow, she completed our 200 HR Teacher Training Program and joined our teaching team after graduation.

At the same time that she began teaching, she went on to get her professional level certification with Lit From Within Yoga, and graduated from their Facilitator Academy about a year later as a 500 HR Registered Yoga Teacher.

She taught over 100 classes in her first year with the studio and is now one of Huntsville’s finest teachers.

Sierra was recently promoted to Lead Teacher at Grow Yoga and will be assisting our next session of The Grow Yoga Practice & Teacher Training program, beginning next month.

You can take her classes in the studio on Wednesday and Thursday nights or meet her at Bend & Brew, the community yoga class that she organizes over the summer at Back Forty Brewing. She’ll make you a friend right away.

If you were to ask Sierra about how she got to where she is, she’d likely tell you something pretty simple like, “I took the next step toward what I wanted at every turn.”

She is a huge part of the heartbeat of Grow Yoga and it has been a privilege to watch her grow. 🍊

This summer has brought sooo many new faces to Grow Yoga, and we could not be more grateful.

Whether you’ve been here for one class or you’ve recently become a member, welcome. We are so glad you’re here. (Biscoe certainly is. 🐾)

As you continue showing up, there is something we want you to know.

While our class experience stays fairly consistent, your experience never will.

Some days you’ll leave feeling strong. Some days you’ll wonder if you’re making any progress at all. Some days you’ll find your edge. Some days you’ll leave thinking, “That was not my best class.”

Do not mistake those moments for a lack of growth.

Transformation does not come from chasing the feeling of having the best class ever. It comes from returning to your mat again and again.

In a world that constantly invites us to move on to the next thing, most people never stay committed to anything long enough to experience real change.

At Grow Yoga, we are choosing a different path.

That is why our Practice Membership begins with a six month commitment. Not because we want to lock you in, but because we believe consistency changes people. Given enough time, we will be able to reflect your growth back to you, often before you can see it yourself.

We do not pick the fruit the day we plant the seed.

Anything worthwhile is carefully tended to.

So stay with the waiting. Stay with the practice. Stay with your community.

One day you will realize you are not just doing yoga anymore. You have become someone different because of it.

To every member who has joined us this summer, thank you for trusting us with your practice.

And thank you to everyone who chooses to support local yoga studios. Your membership makes it possible for us to bring Huntsville more classes, more teachers, more opportunities to grow, and a community that believes real transformation (the deep, worthwhile kind) is more than possible through the practice of yoga.

We are honored to grow alongside you.

One of the most beautiful things about supporting local yoga studios is that it creates a ripple. Those ripples eventually make a wave.

This week, people from all over Huntsville are coming together for Huntsville Yoga Week, and I want to take a moment to acknowledge what Light On Yoga has created for this city through hosting it.

It takes real work, real care, and real belief in community to bring people together in this way.

And this is why supporting local studios makes a difference.

There’s something powerful about seeing teachers, students, and studios collectively investing in the growth of yoga here in Huntsville. Not fitness trends. Not packed rooms for the sake of packed rooms. But investing in the practice. Community. Spaces where people can consistently return to themselves alongside other people doing the same.

Local yoga studios matter because they are driven by purpose.

The teachers who spend years refining their craft matter. (I see you teachers 🧡)
The students who continue showing up matter. (We see you too 🧡)
The conversations after class matter.
The consistency matters.

And over time, that consistency becomes community.

Bend & Brew is back for the summer at Back Forty Brewing.

Hot power yoga outside on the lawn, dogs wandering around, friends practicing together, beer or lunch after class if you want it. It’s one of our favorite parts of the season.

Class starts at 10am.
Free + open to everyone.
