🎉 BIG NEWS FOR OUR COMMUNITY! 🎉

We are excited to announce that Partnership for a Drug-Free Community has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Huntsville Hospital Foundation!

This incredible investment will help us expand prevention education, recovery support services, and community outreach efforts throughout our region. Every dollar represents an opportunity to reach more individuals, support more families, and strengthen our mission of creating a healthier, drug-free community.

We are deeply grateful to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation for believing in our work and partnering with us to make a lasting impact. Together, we are building pathways to prevention, recovery, and hope.

💙 Thank you to our staff, board members, community partners, volunteers, and supporters who make this work possible every day. This funding will help us continue changing lives and meeting people where they are.

The work continues. The impact grows. The future is brighter.

☀️📚 Partnership for a Drug-Free Community was proud to be represented by Sarah and Stacie at the ALCD Kids Fair today!

It was definitely a HOT day, but the turnout was fantastic and well worth it. We had the opportunity to connect with so many children and families in our community while sharing resources and promoting healthy, drug-free lifestyles.

The best part? We completely ran out of the books we were giving away! 📖🎉

That’s a great problem to have and a sign that our young readers were excited to take home something special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and to the organizers for putting together such a wonderful community event. We love being part of opportunities that bring families together and support the well-being of our community.

🚹💙 MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH 💙🚹

Strong Men Talk. Strong Men Feel. Strong Men Ask for Help.

For too long, men have been told to stay silent, hide their emotions, and carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. This Men's Mental Health Month, we're changing the conversation.

🧠 Mental health is health.
💬 It's okay to talk about stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and addiction.
🤝 It's okay to ask for support.
💙 It's okay to not be okay.

Real strength isn't suffering in silence—it's having the courage to speak up and reach out.

Take a moment today to check on a friend, a father, a brother, a son, a coworker, or yourself. One conversation could change a life.

📞 If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for immediate support.

Let's break the stigma. Let's normalize the conversation. Let's remind men they never have to face life's challenges alone.

💜 Today, our Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS), Amberlyn Haden, had the honor of serving on a panel alongside the City of Huntsville’s Homeless Services Team, representing Partnership for a Drug-Free Community and sharing the work being done to support our unsheltered community members.

Amberlyn’s passion for recovery, advocacy, and meeting people where they are continues to make a meaningful impact throughout our community. Through outreach, peer support, resource navigation, and recovery advocacy, she helps individuals take their next steps toward hope, healing, and stability.

We are incredibly proud of Amberlyn for representing our agency and for the dedication she brings to this work every day. Opportunities like these highlight the importance of collaboration and the power of lived experience in helping individuals find recovery and reclaim their lives.

At Partnership for a Drug-Free Community, we believe that recovery is possible, support matters, and every person deserves hope.

We do recover! 💜

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

💬 Language matters.
The words we choose can make a powerful difference. Using supportive, respectful language helps people feel seen, heard, and valued—especially when they’re navigating mental health challenges.

🤝 Supportive language in action:
• “I’m here for you.”
• “You don’t have to go through this alone.”
• “That sounds really hard—do you want to talk about it?”
• “How can I support you right now?”
• “It’s okay to ask for help.”

✨ Even small shifts in how we speak can create a safe space for connection, understanding, and healing.

250 miles. 🚗
3 lives forever changed.

Yesterday, we traveled nearly 250 miles to transport 3 women to treatment for substance use disorder.

Every mile represented hope, courage, and the chance for a new beginning. Recovery is not always easy, and access to treatment can be a barrier for so many — but yesterday, distance did not stand in the way of healing.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and helps make moments like this possible. Because of you, lives are being changed one mile, one person, and one recovery journey at a time. ❤️
