Happy World Physical Therapy Day! 💜

Physical therapy can look a little different for everyone. For some people, it may be getting around the house more safely or feeling steadier on their feet. For others, it might be being able to get up from their favorite chair, go up and down the stairs, or move around their home without feeling as nervous about losing their balance. Sometimes, those everyday things are the biggest wins.

We’re grateful for the physical therapists who work with patients on those goals and help them build strength, improve balance, and feel more comfortable with movement. With home health physical therapy, patients can work on these skills in the place where they actually use them every day — their own home. 🏡

At Eden Health, we know that everyone has different things they want to be able to do. That’s why we take the time to understand what’s important to each patient and work with them from there. Seeing someone become a little more independent or confident in their daily routine is what makes this work so rewarding.

If you could feel stronger or more confident doing one everyday activity, what would it be?

Emergencies have a way of reminding us how important it is to have a plan before we actually need one. For older adults, people who spend most of their time at home, and anyone who relies on daily medications or medical equipment, a little preparation can make a stressful situation much easier to manage.

National Preparedness Month is a good time to sit down with a parent, grandparent, spouse, friend, or caregiver and make sure the basics are covered. Do you have an up-to-date list of medications? Are emergency contacts easy to find? Do you have several days of food, water, and other essentials on hand? If someone relies on oxygen or other equipment that needs electricity, is there a backup plan if the power goes out? And if you needed to leave home quickly, do you know how you would get there and where you would go?

These may not be things we think about every day, but taking a few minutes to talk through them now can save a lot of confusion later. Keep important information somewhere that family members or caregivers can find it, and make sure everyone who may need to help knows the plan. You don’t have to have everything figured out today. Pick one thing from the list and start there.

Save this checklist to come back to, and share it with someone you care about. 💜 For additional emergency preparedness information and resources, visit Ready.gov. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.

Healthy aging doesn’t have to mean making a dozen changes at once. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference: taking a walk around the block, drinking enough water, eating a good meal, keeping up with appointments, reviewing medications, or picking up the phone to call someone you haven’t talked to in a while. These things may not seem significant on their own, but they’re part of what helps us stay active, connected, and involved in the lives we enjoy.

At Eden Health, we see every day that aging looks different for everyone. For some people, staying independent means continuing to live at home and keep up with the routines they’ve had for years. For others, it may mean accepting a little extra help after an illness or surgery, making a few changes around the house, or having someone there to help make everyday tasks a little easier. Asking for help doesn’t mean giving up your independence—it can sometimes be what makes it possible to hold onto it.

If you’re caring for a parent, grandparent, spouse, or another loved one, you don’t have to figure everything out at once. Start with one thing that would make their day a little easier or healthier, and go from there. A short walk together, a phone call to a friend, getting an appointment scheduled, or simply sitting down for a conversation can all count.

Swipe through for five practical ways to support healthy aging at home, and save this post if you’d like to come back to it later. 💜

Talking about future healthcare wishes can feel difficult—but having the conversation early can bring clarity, confidence, and peace of mind. 💜
Advance care planning gives you an opportunity to:
• Reflect on what matters most to you
• Share your healthcare wishes with loved ones
• Choose someone you trust to speak for you if needed
• Help your family make decisions with greater confidence
These conversations aren’t only for moments of crisis. Starting before a decision is urgently needed gives everyone time to listen, ask questions, and understand your preferences.

September is Healthy Aging Month—a time to recognize that healthy aging isn’t about doing everything alone. It’s about having the right support to keep doing the things that bring comfort, confidence, and meaning to everyday life.
For one person, independence may mean moving safely through their home. For another, it may mean preparing a favorite meal, keeping an appointment, staying connected with family, or feeling confident enough to ask for help.
At Eden Health, we believe care should begin by understanding what matters most to each person. 💜
What everyday activity helps you feel most independent?

A little live music is on the schedule tomorrow. 🎶
We’ll be at Copper Summit ALF at 11:30 AM for a morning of familiar songs, conversation, and good company.
These visits are always a good reminder that connection doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just a room full of people, a few favorite songs, and someone remembering every lyric before the rest of us do. 💛
We’re looking forward to spending the morning with everyone at Copper Summit!
Moments like these reflect why Eden Health is passionate about supporting seniors and families through compassionate care.
