Kentucky River Medical Center (KRMC) has been named a 2026 Best of Kentucky Regional Award winner, recognizing the hospital’s continued role as a critical health care provider for Jackson, Breathitt County, and surrounding communities.

KRMC’s services include a 24-hour emergency department, intensive care facilities, a full-service laboratory, physical therapy, radiology, cardiopulmonary services, occupational therapy, speech therapy, swing beds and surgical services. Behind those departments is a team of members of the medical staff, nurses, technicians, and support staff focused on care that is accessible, compassionate, and rooted in the needs of the people they serve.

“This recognition reflects what our team shows up to do every day — serve families, strengthen community health, and keep essential care close to home,” said Susie Morgan, RN, MSN, Chief Executive Officer, Kentucky River Medical Center. “In a region where dependable local health care is a necessity, that work matters deeply, and this honor belongs to the people who make it possible.”

Thank you to those who nominated and voted for KRMC to be selected as a 2026 Best of Kentucky Regional Award winner.

Quorum Health has been named a 2026 Best Place to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare—for the second consecutive year.

This recognition follows our recent Nashville Business Journal Best Place to Work honor, and together they reflect something we don't take lightly: the people who show up every day, on the frontlines and behind the scenes, make this possible.

As CEO, Chris Harrison shared: “The cultural foundation we've been building is not only real, it’s also lasting.”

Happy National Nurses Week!

Across Quorum Health affiliated hospitals and care settings, nurses are on the frontlines every day—delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to their communities.

In honor of Nurses Week 2026, Michele Reynolds, Chief Nursing Executive of Quorum Health, shared this message of gratitude:

“The 2026 Nurses Week theme, The Power of Nursing, honors the critical role nurses play in communities across the country. Nursing is at the heart of healthcare, and our nurses embody everything this week represents—and more. The power of nursing goes beyond clinical. It’s in the hand you hold after a difficult diagnosis, the calm voice in a moment of fear, the thoughtful notes that guide transitions of care, and the positivity you bring to each new day.
To nurses everywhere—thank you for all that you do and for the difference you make every day.”

This past week, we had the honor of celebrating a transition within the Mesa View Regional family in Mesquite, Nevada. We bid farewell to a true servant leader as we welcomed our incoming CEO. The celebration gathered together, as both leaders shared inspiring words, joined by local government officials and some community members. We are grateful for the legacy left behind and excited for the road ahead.

Fun, laughter, and friendly competition filled our 10‑year anniversary celebration. Teams came together to collaborate and compete, all while celebrating the hard work and dedication that brought us here. Ten years ago, Quorum Health was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that local health care is the heartbeat of a community.

Over the past decade, we’ve faced our share of challenges — a global pandemic, workforce pressures, industry disruption — and we’ve met every one of them with the same determination that has defined us from the start.

Along the way, we've made hard decisions, invested where we could, built new partnerships, and worked to support the teams who show up every day — because local health care is worth fighting for. We've also been recognized as a Best Place to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare and by the Nashville Business Journal — a reflection of the people who make this mission possible every day.

Here’s to a tradition of care and to the next ten years!
