THE GENERAL WAS REVIEWING HIS DEFENSES BEFORE THE BATTLE WHEN HE SUDDENLY FACED A SOLDIER WITH A DRAWN SWORD. WHEN HE ASKED WHOSE SIDE HE WAS ON, THE ANSWER BROUGHT HIM TO HIS KNEES. ⚔️🛡️

Joshua was about to launch the siege against the impenetrable walls of Jericho. As he surveyed the city, a man materialized out of nowhere, standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.

Joshua, a fearless commander, marched up and demanded: "Are you for us or for our enemies?"

The entity's response utterly destroyed any illusion of human control: "Neither, but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come."

This was no ordinary angel; scholars recognize this as a Christophany—the manifestation of the pre-incarnate Christ assuming absolute military command. He ordered Joshua to take off his sandals, for the ground was holy.

Heaven did not come down to take Joshua's side; Heaven came down to take over the operation completely. When you face massive giants or impenetrable walls in your life, God does not descend to be your assistant. He descends to be the Supreme Commander, and your only tactical option is to fall facedown and surrender your sword.
