✨ Please join us in welcoming Sonja George, PhD, ALC to A Fresh Start Counseling ✨
We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Sonja George to the A Fresh Start Counseling team. Sonja is an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) who brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and client-centered approach to her work with individuals seeking healing, growth, and emotional well-being.
Dr. George holds a PhD in Professional Counseling, with scholarly emphasis on the role of spirituality and faith in the healing process of women who have experienced trauma. Her clinical approach is trauma-informed and grounded in cultural humility and evidence-based practices. When desired by the client, she is open to integrating spiritual perspectives in a respectful and clinically appropriate way.
Sonja is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to move forward. She is practicing under the supervision of Dorothy McDermott, LPC-S, and is currently accepting new clients for both in-person and telehealth sessions.
