Dr. Philip has taken health advice and created systems to answer the question of WHO needs to do WHAT and WHEN. Our clinic mission is to see people be as healthy as possible, so they can live out their personal mission without health limitations.

Topics included:

---Top reasons why weight loss doesn't happen when you feel like the scale should be moving.

---The kind of exercise that helps you improve blood sugar and when to do it.

---The best supplements for wellness and also for SOLVING issues, not just for putting on band aids.

---We also we talk about Iowa's cancer rate, which is 10% higher than the National average, and the "Terrain theory," which may the best method of future proofing your health. (https://www.thenewlede.org/2026/03/iowa-cancer-pesticides-nitrates/)

***Currently our state can an has measured the trend of cancer and case numbers, but the analysis of the why behind the numbers is not simply answered and will take multiple studies to fully analyze and accurately answer. It is not one thing, but multiple things.

🌟Here is some extremely compelling information and research from Ben Bikman, on the Rhonda Patrick podcast. He presented a case study of 11 diabetic women who followed a program for 90 days. All had an HbA1c over 6.5%, with an average of 8.9%, though after 90 days their average was 5.6%. AMAZING changes!

🌟Greater Life is bringing this system to our clinic on top of dietary recommendations and exercise recommendations. We are ready to help those who are ready to prevent diabetes and improve their health status.

🌟Three main steps were prioritized:
1) Control carbs. Focusing on whole fruits and vegetables.

2) Prioritize protein and don’t fear fat. Many of the greatest protein sources found in nature naturally have fat content.

3) Timing of meals and exercise matter. Eat more calories earlier in the day, avoid late night eating, walking after meals significantly reduces blood sugar spikes.

One extra key point… the people who are were in this case study VOLUNTEERED. There was significant follow up either in person or via online. You can do it, it’s harder to do it alone, everyone needs a ā€œposseā€ to help them along.

At Greater Life Health and Wellness we have doctors, nurses, and health coaches to help you every step of the way. The best time to get healthy was Yesterday. The next best time is Now.

Recently I was doing a puzzle with my just turned four year-old son. It was late at night and nearly his bedtime and we were sitting on the floor doing a kid puzzle. I was sitting with terrible posture for entirely too long, and when I got up after an already long day, it was one of those times where my whole body groaned. My health plan involves me doing at least two weight lifting workouts and two cardio workouts per week, and I was due to go to the gym for a cardio session. My groaning body did not want to go. I thought about skipping. It’s only one workout, missing one won’t matter much in the long run. Maybe it’s actually rest that I need at this moment. I’ll wait until I feel better to get my next workout in. Not a big deal.

āļøLies. All lies.

I got up, and went to the rec center anyway. I was stoked to see four other people I knew also at the rec center working out. Seeing those people who also made the sacrifice of comfort to be at the gym gave me some extra inspiration. I got on a treadmill and halfway to my 50 minute goal, I could not believe how good I felt. My body had loosened up, and I felt strong. I started thinking clearly. I could hear my own thoughts and ideas, and my task list for the next week became clear in my head. I was loving it. It felt so good. I started imagining what I would have felt like if I had stayed on the couch. Flipped on the tv and zoned out. I could hear how before I was reasoning with myself on how I was too sore, too tired… ā€œI can’t work out right now, not tonight, I’ll wake up and see how I feel tomorrow.ā€

What rubbish mindset is that?

What is the MED or "Minimum effective dose" for using a sauna?

57 minutes per week. Yes, just that, based on the research done by Susanna Soberg, made popular by legendary Stanford scientist, Andrew Huberman.

We recommend two 30 minute sessions per week for ease and convenience, though some like doing longer sessions or getting in and out every 10-15 minutes.

Our top reason for offering the sauna is for detox. We rid of toxicants via p*e, p**p, breathe, and SWEAT. Sweat is the one route often not utilized enough!

There is also benefits for skin health, immune support, stress reduction, and muscle recovery.

And it's simply heat.

No gimmicks or tricks, it's just heat. At Greater Life we like the benefits from basic elements including heat, cold, oxygen, and nutrition for starters.

Our unit is infrared and does include red light panels for duel modality exposure.

Take advantage of the sauna and feel at your best heading into summer!

How do you make it to the sweet sixteen?
How do you win basketball games?

Same way you get healthy. Same way you get sick. Same way storms happen.

They happen when conditions are right.

Being healthy is not a mystery, we just must stack conditions in our favor.

If a basketball team keeps shooting bad shots, or decides to stop playing tough defense, those are conditions to lose a basketball game. It’s not necessarily one thing but many things together.

Getting adjusted helps people get healthy.
Exercise helps get people healthy.
Hydration helps get people healthy.
Deep sleep helps get people healthy.
Fruits and vegetables help get people healthy.
Enough protein per day helps get people healthy.
Having good friends helps get people healthy.

Health happens when the conditions are right.

Last fall this article went into the newspaper, the deep basics of what to eat and how to eat it. Expounding on the article, there is a situation called "NuRD," pronounced like "nerd." It stands for nutrient reserve deficiency. There are times when we run dry in regards to how much energy we have. Vitamins and minerals are important because they play important roles in our bio-chemistry, just like oil and gasoline plays a role in how an engine functions. Evenmore, ask any mechanic and they might tell you there are tiers to oil and fuel. There are cheap versions and there are better options. Put in cheap fuel you get cheap results, breakdowns are not far behind. Fatigue, constipation, headaches, fibromyalgia, poor sleep, acid reflux, blood pressure issues, cold hands and cold feet, slow hair growth or losing hair, psoriasis, recurrent colds and illnesses, all are signs that a nutrient deficiency has happened.

Supplements are like a bridge toward real health. They help get us there and keep us moving in the right direction. They are not the end all be all but when there are reasons that life is running you dry in terms of energy, they are fantastic tools to refuel the tank, make sure you stay away from NuRD!

Throughout all my schooling and education, the sweetest, to the point statement I’ve ever heard on what to eat and what to avoid is this: ā€œEat food, mostly plants, not
