🌿 OT Month Spotlight: Honoring Liz Gama, MS, OTR/L 🌿
This Occupational Therapy Month, we are proud to recognize and celebrate our lead occupational therapist, Liz Gama, MS, OTR/L, for her dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the individuals and families she serves.
With 14 years of experience as a licensed occupational therapist, Liz brings a depth of clinical knowledge paired with a genuine passion for helping others participate more fully in their daily lives. She is currently working toward her Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist certification, completing an additional exam and over 100 hours of intensive study focused on the use of equine movement to facilitate functional outcomes for children and adults.
Liz’s approach to care is shaped not only by her professional training, but also by her lived experience. As someone navigating a genetic connective tissue disorder, she brings a uniquely informed perspective to:
-sensory processing and regulation
-energy conservation and pacing
-attunement to subtle non-verbal communication and body language
-thoughtful analysis of how medical needs impact functional performance
Her work is deeply rooted in empathy, therapeutic use of self, clinical reasoning, and a commitment to truly understanding each individual’s needs.
Outside of the clinic, Liz is supported by a wonderful family—her husband (a special education teacher specializing in intellectual disabilities), their two daughters (including one who is neuro-spicy), and her loyal service dog, Luna, a German Shorthaired Pointer who plays an important role in both her personal and professional life.
Liz’s greatest passion lies in supporting children on the Autism Spectrum, helping them build skills, confidence, and meaningful connections through individualized, strengths-based care.
We are incredibly grateful for the knowledge, compassion, and leadership Liz brings to this field every day.
Thank you, Liz, for your service, your advocacy, and the lasting impact you make in the lives of so many. đź’›
