This week at Lakebridge, we celebrated the life and legacy of the one and only Dolly Parton. 💗✨

Dolly’s music has been part of so many of our lives over the years, so it only felt right to honor her the best way we knew how — with plenty of pink, a little sparkle, her unforgettable music, and a whole lot of love. 🎀🎶

We also made the day extra special by celebrating our August resident birthdays! 🎂🥳 It was a beautiful afternoon of remembering an icon who brought so much joy to generations while celebrating some pretty special people of our own.

Dolly, thank you for the music, the memories, the laughter, and the reminder to always add a little more kindness — and a little more sparkle — to the world. 💕✨

Today, Tennessee feels a little less sparkly. 💔✨

From the Great Smoky Mountains to Nashville and far beyond, Dolly Parton gave the world a lifetime of music, laughter, kindness, and joy. But here in Tennessee, she was something even more special — she was one of our own.

Her songs became the soundtrack to so many lives, including those of generations of residents throughout The Waters. We’ve sung along to her music, danced to her songs, dressed up in her honor, shared stories about her, and made more than a few wonderful memories along the way.

Today, as we look back on one of those fun-filled Dolly days at The Waters, these photos feel just a little more special. 🤍

Dolly, thank you for the music. Thank you for the laughter. Thank you for the generosity, the rhinestones, the big hair, the bigger heart, and all the joy you shared with the world.

Most of all, thank you for giving Tennessee so much to be proud of.

Today we say goodbye, but we also celebrate one incredible life and a legacy that will live on for generations.

From your Tennessee Waters family, rest in peace, Dolly. 🦋✨

For nearly 20 years, sisters Cynthia and Alice had a pretty sweet arrangement: Alice baked, Cynthia made it beautiful.

Together, the sisters owned Another Touch Bakery in Jonesborough, where they spent nearly two decades making cakes, desserts and candies for their local community.

They each had their role.

Alice did the baking. Cynthia did the decorating.

For Cynthia, that meant taking whatever came out of the oven and adding her own touch before it went out the door—whether it was a cake for a celebration, a dessert or one of the many sweets they made over the years.

For almost 20 years, the sisters worked side by side, building a local business together and becoming a small part of countless celebrations along the way.

The bakery may have closed its doors, but Cynthia still has all those years of memories from a business she got to build with her sister.

💦🦽Waters Wheelchair Wash!🦽💦

At Lakebridge, we gave our residents' wheelchairs a sparkling refresh! Nothing like a clean shiny wheelchair ready to cruise...and like any good Waters activity, it quickly turned into a full-on water fight! 🤣

Shark Week ended with a splash at Lakebridge! 🦈

Last week, our residents enjoyed a fun tropical luau filled with games, laughter, and delicious treats. A big thank you to Emily Bryant from Home Instead for joining us with refreshing “shark” drinks and a -themed Jeopardy game that had everyone participating and having a great time.

Thank you, Emily, for helping make the day so much fun for our residents!

Some last licks from July at Lakebridge! 😋🍨

Our residents enjoyed cooling off with a sweet ice cream treat and getting creative with beach-inspired paintings. 🏖️

Our residents at Lakebridge have been hard at work decorating their own birdhouses. Once they’re finished, our feathered friends will have a cozy new place to rest and stay cool during these hot summer days. 🐦🏡☀️
