It is with great gratitude, (and some sadness), and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead, that I make this last post.
My time as Activity Director at Kalispell Assisted Living has come to an end, but the memories, relationships, laughter, and joy that each of you have brought me over the past 2 years will not.
I want to say Thank You.
Thank you for the friendships, the support, the patience, and encouragement, as I make this choice to move forward.
Thank you to each family member for sharing your loved ones with me, and trusting me to provide kind, compassionate, vibrant, silly, joyful, encouraging, and supportive activities for them.
We had so many adventures and experiences together!
In my position, it’s not just about playing games, or going shopping.
I want you to know that I took each and every resident’s preferences and abilities into consideration when creating our daily program.
My 34 years experience in senior healthcare provided me with the insight into each persons physical, emotional, and cognitive needs, and I did my best to create programs, activities, and outings to meet each one.
I watched residents grow.
They became physically stronger, breaking boundaries and limits that they held themselves to.
I watched people grow emotionally, and socially, stepping into life instead of watching from the sidelines or staying in their rooms.
I saw memory difficulties fade and people become confident and engaged, building friendships with their neighbors and reversing a patterns of decline.
THESE are WHY I did my job.
It was the most fulfilling experience I’ve had in my 34 years. Because of YOU.
So again, I say THANK YOU.
Thank you for sharing Your Lives with me.
You will ALL be missed greatly.
Feel free to reach out to me anytime 😘
It’s not Goodbye, just “see ya later “
