Our ThinkFirst of Greater Kansas City injury prevention team recently presented at Girls on Fire, a week-long program hosted by the Blue Springs Police Department for girls in grades 6–12 who live in or attend school in the Blue Springs School District.

The program empowers young women by addressing challenges they face through lessons on healthy relationships, self-esteem, discipline, and overall health and wellness. As part of the experience, our ThinkFirst presenters shared practical strategies for preventing brain and spinal cord injuries. Through discussions on safe driving, pedestrian safety, and firearm safety, participants learned how everyday decisions can help protect themselves and others.

Eight years ago, Verda's Place opened at Research Medical Center in loving memory of Verda Salberg, who courageously battled cancer until her passing in 2017. Made possible through generous donations to Bra Couture KC in Verda's honor, this appearance and assistance center continues to provide comfort, confidence, and compassionate support for patients navigating cancer treatment and recovery.

We're honored to carry on Verda's legacy alongside our partners at Bra Couture KC and Research Medical Center, ensuring no one has to face their cancer journey alone. Happy 8th Anniversary to Verda's Place! 🎉🎗️
