Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital invites our community to attend a free Narcan Training on Friday, July 17, in our Community Room.

Narcan, also known as naloxone, is a medication that can help reverse an opioid overdose when given in time. Learning how to recognize the signs of an overdose and how to respond quickly can make a life-saving difference for a friend, family member, neighbor, or even a stranger.

This training is an important opportunity to come together as a community, reduce stigma, and make sure more people are prepared to help in an emergency. Hosted by our friends at Camino Real, and presented by Texas Overdose Prevention, free Narcan kits will be provided for attendees.

Life changes can sometimes mean changes in your healthcare coverage, but you don't have to navigate it alone! If you've recently lost your insurance, changed jobs, moved, gotten married or divorced, or experienced another qualifying life event, a representative from The Health Collaborative will be in the Hospital lobby on the next several Tuesdays to help.
She can review programs you may qualify for and assist you in enrolling in a health plan that best fits you and your family. Stop by OKMH and see what options may be available to you! Or call for more information 830-583-4591.

We’re excited to partner with the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) as an official stop for the Connect Kenedy and Karnes County Connect transportation services!

Need a ride to a doctor’s appointment, the hospital, or around town? AACOG has you covered. Their wheelchair-accessible vans provide safe, reliable transportation throughout Karnes County and can even make limited route deviations when needed.

In addition to stops at Kaiser Family Practice on the OKMH Campus, the service connects riders to destinations such as Walmart, H-E-B, libraries, city offices, and other key locations in Kenedy, Karnes City, and Runge.

Even better—the service is currently FREE to ride!

The Connect Kenedy route stops at OKMH every hour, while the Karnes County route stops approximately every hour and 30 minutes, making it easier than ever to get where you need to go.

Stop by our lobby today to pick up a bus schedule, plan your future appointments, and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee in our hospital cafeteria. We have plenty of schedules available and would love to help you get connected! 🚌☕️
