"It's probably just because I'm getting older."

We hear versions of this all the time, but foot pain isn't necessarily something you just have to accept with age.

If your feet are keeping you from taking that morning walk, playing a round of golf, traveling, or keeping up with the grandkids, let's take a look.

The goal isn't to slow down as you get older. It's to keep doing what you love for as long as possible!

Watching the World Cup is a great excuse to cheer on your favorite team...but don't let it be the only exercise you get this summer!

Whether you're kicking a soccer ball around with the kids, hitting the pickleball court, exploring local trails, or just staying active, your feet do a lot more work than you probably give them credit for.

If you've been dealing with nagging foot or ankle pain, don't ignore it. Small aches have a way of turning into bigger problems when they're left untreated.

#5: Waiting doesn't always make it better.

Many people hope that foot and ankle pain will simply go away with time. While some minor aches and injuries improve on their own, persistent pain often means there is an underlying issue that deserves attention.

In many cases, seeking evaluation earlier can provide more treatment options and help prevent a small problem from becoming more limiting over time.

You don't have to wait until the pain becomes severe to start looking for answers.

#4: Heel pain isn't always plantar fasciitis.

Many people assume that any pain in the heel must be plantar fasciitis. While plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, it isn't the only possibility.

Heel pain can have several different causes, and the right treatment often depends on identifying what's actually contributing to the problem.

If heel pain has been lingering or keeps returning despite stretching, changing shoes, or trying treatments at home, it may be worth getting a proper evaluation.

Here is our third installment of Top 5 things Dr. Kiddy Would Wish More People Knew!

#3: An ankle that keeps rolling isn't normal.

Many people assume they simply have "weak ankles" or that repeated ankle sprains are just bad luck. In reality, recurring ankle instability can be a sign that the ligaments supporting the ankle haven't healed properly after a previous injury.

Over time, repeated sprains can lead to ongoing discomfort, reduced confidence when walking or exercising, and an increased risk of future injuries.

If your ankle keeps giving out or doesn't feel as stable as it once did, it may be worth having it evaluated.

Stay tuned as we continue our list of things Dr. Kiddy wishes more people knew about foot and ankle health.

#2: Foot pain is not a normal part of getting older.

Many people assume that foot pain is simply something they have to live with as they age. While our bodies do change over time, persistent foot and ankle pain shouldn't be considered a normal part of everyday life.

Often, there are underlying issues that can be identified and addressed to help improve comfort, mobility, and quality of life.

You don't have to simply "put up with it" because you think it's part of getting older.

Stay tuned as we continue our list of things Dr. Kiddy wishes more people knew about foot and ankle health.
