We packed our entire clinic into the basement during the tornado warning today, then had to close early due to a power outage.

As of 8:30 PM Monday, we're still without power - but we're hopeful we'll be back up and running by morning! We'll post updates here, and current clients, please keep an eye on your email for the latest.

Stay safe out there tonight, everyone. This spring/summer has thrown some wild weather our way! 🌪️

🎉 We're SO excited to announce a new birthday tradition at Simply Spoken Therapy! 🎂📚

Birthdays are a big deal, and we're thrilled to partner with Blue House Books, our favorite local independent bookstore right here in Kenosha, to make our clients' birthday months even more special!

Starting this month, every Simply Spoken Therapy birthday child will receive a special birthday certificate to take to Blue House Books, where they'll get to choose a surprise from the bookstore's Treasure Box during their birthday month! 🎁✨

We tried to hire Maddie once. But didn't have the room.

Then one maternity leave happened.

Ketchup? Hard pass. She has standards and ketchup simply does not meet them.
Flamin' Hot Cheetos? Now THAT'S a different story. The spicier the better!
She is made for sunshine-filled days - warm, bright, and full of good energy wherever she goes. She brings the perfect balance of calm energy and playful fun to everything she does... though the coffee may deserve some credit too ☕

"Say hi!" "Say thank you!" "Say please!" - sound familiar?

Almost every parent has done this, and it comes from such a good place. But in speech therapy, we often suggest a small shift that makes a big difference: modeling language instead of prompting kids to repeat it.

Our newest blog explains why "say ___" can quietly add pressure to communication and Ms. Bailey shares a simple, playful strategy you can try today (hint: repeat 3 times and pause). It's a gentle, no-guilt read for any parent who wants language to grow more naturally.

As we wrap up speech and hearing month I want to show the glow up the speech office got this month too!
When we moved into the space a year ago, we put so much effort into making all of the treatment rooms, the gym and the waiting room fun and beautiful. They had pictures on the walls, colorful rugs and the cutest wallpaper. But the speech office and turned into a blab catch all space. Not the vibe we are going for.

So with a goal to make the space feel calm, adult, and oh so cozy - we called on the fantastic marymantheidesigns to help make it a reality. Please look at these before and after shots.
