September is Su***de Prevention Month.

We all play a role in su***de prevention. đź’š

Sometimes that role looks like checking in on a friend. Sometimes it’s listening without judgment, noticing when someone seems different, or simply reminding someone that they don’t have to walk through a difficult season alone.

You don’t have to be a counselor to make a difference. You just have to be willing to notice, listen, and reach out.

This month let’s try to build a habit of making space for the conversations that matter. Let’s check on one another. And let’s remind the people around us that their lives matter, their stories matter, and there is always room for hope.

Let’s be a community that looks out for one another.

Today at our monthly coalition meeting we celebrated National Su***de Prevention Month by giving our coalition members su***de prevention toolkits to spread the news that we all have a role in preventing su***de!

đź’śChecking in on your friends is su***de prevention.
đź’™Joining a gym is su***de prevention.
đź’śGoing to therapy is su***de prevention.
đź’™Using tools like 988 and talking to someone is su***de prevention.

If you or your organization wants a toolkit or an overview presentation about su***de prevention please reach out to Leah at [email protected].

We're Back. We're Here. đź’š

Our office has reopened after our self-care week, and our hearts remain with every member of our community affected by the recent flooding on July 16, as well as those still carrying the weight of last year's disaster.

Whether you experienced the loss of a loved one, damage to your home, disruption to your life, or you're simply finding it difficult to process having to walk through this again, you don't have to carry it alone.

New Hope Counseling is offering FREE counseling sessions for individuals and families who have been directly or indirectly impacted by the recent flooding, as well as those continuing to experience emotional effects from last year's event.

Trauma doesn't always show up immediately, and healing doesn't have a timeline. However you're feeling right now, your experience is valid, and we're here to help.

📞 Call us with any questions you may have or if you know you want to seek services, visit our website or come into the office to complete a new client intake.

Due to the ongoing flooding in our communities, New Hope Counseling will be closed today to ensure the safety of our clients and staff.

From July 20th-23rd, our office will be taking a dedicated Self-Care Week. This intentional pause gives our team the opportunity to rest and recharge so we can continue providing the compassionate care our community deserves.

Thank you for supporting our staff as we practice the same healthy habits we encourage every day.

We'll be back on July 27th, refreshed and ready to serve!

Taking care of your mental health doesn't always have to begin in a counseling office.

Sometimes the first step is simply learning more about yourself and discovering practical tools that can help you navigate life's challenges.

Our upcoming FREE "Building and Maintaining Resilience" workshop offers a welcoming, low-pressure environment to explore strategies for managing stress, strengthening connections, and building resilience in everyday life.

Whether you're curious about supporting your mental wellness, looking for practical coping skills, or simply wanting to invest in yourself, we'd love to have you join.
