A useful workout can leave you energized, coordinated, and more capable without leaving you sore. Consider other signs of a successful workout… your form stayed consistent, you recovered between sets, you used an appropriate range, and you could return to movement again this week.
Soreness may happen, especially with something new. It does not need to be the goal.

Core Studios has a new look, and it feels like us. 🌿

The original Core logo will always remind me of where this community began—the people who showed up, moved together, and helped make this studio a place to belong. That part of our story comes with us.

Our new look reflects the Core we’re growing into here in Key West: warm, grounded, and rooted in thoughtful movement and care. The logo has changed, but the heart behind it is the same.

Thank you for being part of Core, through every chapter. I’m so glad you’re here.

With love,
Sarah

The Key West Wellness Reset 🌿

Movement that helps us feel strong and capable. Mindfulness practices that give us space to slow down and care for our nervous systems. Food that nourishes us. Time for connection, a change of scenery, and quiet moments to reflect.

We’re bringing them together for the Core Key West Wellness Reset, April 15–18, 2027, at Hyatt Centric Key West.

We can’t wait to share more as the experience takes shape. Which of these six feels most needed in your life right now?

Rotation shows up when you reach, turn, walk, paddle, garden, and look over your shoulder. Training it with control helps the ribs, hips, and trunk share the work instead of asking one area to do everything.
Start with a small range. Keep your sit bones grounded, turn from the center of the body, and stop before the movement becomes a strain.

A satisfying snack usually needs more than one quick ingredient. Pair a source of protein with fiber and something you genuinely enjoy. Think fruit and seeds, hummus with vegetables, or an apple with nut butter.
The exact choice is personal. The useful question is whether the snack supports your energy until the next meal without turning food into a set of rigid rules.

Speed can hide the part of an exercise where control disappears. Slowing the lowering phase gives you time to notice your alignment, stay connected to the target muscles, and own the full range you are using.
Try a count of three on the way down, pause for one, then return with control. Use a load that lets you keep the same quality from the first rep to the last.

During class, your instructor is watching how you organize the movement. Are you holding your breath? Are your shoulders doing work meant for your hips? Can you keep control as the exercise gets harder? (So you can see how it’s secondary to keep our numbers straight 🤭🧘‍♀️)
A thoughtful correction is not criticism. It is information that helps you get more from the movement with less unnecessary strain. The goal is not to make every body look identical. The goal is to help your body move with clarity.

Your feet are the first conversation your body has with the floor. When your weight drifts into the heels, arches collapse, or toes grip for stability, the rest of the body has to compensate. 🦶🏼🧘‍♀️

Small awareness at the ground can make standing work feel steadier everywhere else.

There is something powerful about stepping outside our everyday routines.
Moving differently.
Eating beautiful food.
Sleeping.
Learning.
Reflecting.
Connecting.
Resting.
Sometimes creating space is exactly what allows us to hear what our bodies—and our lives—have been trying to tell us.
