​When supporting someone living with memory loss, one of the most powerful tools for reducing anxiety is validation.

​Instead of correcting a forgotten detail or date, try leaning into their emotional reality:
🔹 Focus on the feeling, not the facts. If they express worry, validate the emotion first ("I hear you, and you're safe here").
🔹 Redirect gently. Transition to a favorite song, a familiar memory, or a calming activity.
🔹 Protect your energy. Giving yourself grace during tough moments is essential for long-term caregiver health.
