The La Crosse Lighthouse is entering an exciting new chapter!

We are evolving our program offerings to better meet the needs of individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and other life-interrupting challenges.

Overnight respite services will end on September 25, 2026. Our new Day Support program will begin October 5, 2026, and will be available Monday–Friday from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Our new Day Support program will focus on creating structured, peer-centered opportunities for individuals to:

✨ Identify and build on their strengths

✨ Develop self-efficacy and recovery skills

✨ Increase independence and confidence

✨ Build ownership and accountability around personal goals, choices, and next steps

✨ Understand and advocate for their rights

✨ Build meaningful connections within their community

✨ Explore recovery, wellness, and personal goals alongside peers with lived experience

✨ Develop the skills and confidence to navigate challenges and solve problems for themselves

Day Support will include planned groups, workshops, presentations, and other activities that provide opportunities for learning, growth, recovery, and connection.

This is a structured program, but participants do not need to spend the entire day at The La Crosse Lighthouse to participate. Individuals can choose the activities and opportunities that best fit their interests, goals, needs, and availability.

We believe that people are more than the challenges they experience. We believe in the power of peer support, lived experience, connection, choice, recovery, and self-determination.

This isn't just a change in programming, it's an opportunity to strengthen what The La Crosse Lighthouse offers and create a space where people can come together, discover their strengths, build skills, take ownership of their goals, and take meaningful steps toward the lives they want to live.

We are excited about this new direction and the possibilities ahead!

Last Friday night was the one-year anniversary at Oh Oh Coffee, and they held a pop-up Sober Bar event to celebrate! We’re incredibly grateful that they chose The La Crosse Lighthouse to receive the proceeds from the evening.

The turnout was great, the mocktails were excellent, and it was a wonderful opportunity to increase awareness of The La Crosse Lighthouse in the community. The night was made possible by volunteers donating their time and local businesses and organizations donating the mocktails and desserts.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a successful night, and congratulations to Oh Oh Coffee on one year!

We would like to take a moment to extend our heartfelt condolences to our Peer Partners at Wisconsin Milkweed Alliance - WIMA and the team at Monarch House Peer Run Respite on the loss of an incredible man.

When The La Crosse Lighthouse was navigating transitions in 2022, Dan never hesitated to offer his support, kindness, and expertise. His generosity and dedication to others made a lasting impact on our organization and so many throughout the peer support community.

Dan was a truly remarkable person whose compassion and commitment touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone at WIMA and Monarch House during this difficult time.

Thank you for your time on this planet, Dan.

Daniel was born on October 17th, 1985 and passed away on June 28th, 2026 at the age of 40
