Just a reminder that we are not open for our usual retail hours today, 9/18, as fair duties prevail! We have the following openings this week, and we’re back on our usual retail hours next week: Wednesday 2-6, and Friday 10-2!

9/21 at 10:00 with Melanie, reflexology or facials
at 1:30 with Holly, upper body massage or manual lymphatic drainage
9/22 at 10:00, 11:00, or 12:00 with Melanie, reflexology or facials

As the first hint of Fall approaches, it’s time to stock up on tea! Tea, in whatever form of Camellia sinensis you choose, is rich in antioxidants, supports digestion, a healthy immune system, energizes us, clarifies the mind, and reduces inflammation. So while I adore herbs , I’m also a huge believer and imbiber of this revered plant!
Bulk teas allow for a more thorough brewing experience, frees one up to customize the strength and mixture of teas, and has no risk of micro-plastics found in some teabags. Plus, the price difference is huge- reduced packaging and the freedom to buy small quantities. These are packaged in compostable rice paper bags, but feel free to bring your own container!
We’re open for retail most Wednesdays 2-6, and Fridays 10-2, so come in and see for yourself. We also are happy to ship to your door.

My classes are hands-on, super informative, and full of plants to explore and experience in a sensory way. Good morning and happy Monday! Some opportunities for self-care this week:

Life gets busy! We mean well in our busy pursuits, but self-care often falls on the back burner of to-do’s.
🌸Sylvia Stevens, LMT and reiki practitioner, has opened up time this Saturday from 8:30-12:30. She also has a couple spots still open next week.
🌸Holly Dunbar has one spot left this Friday at 2:00 for manual lymphatic drainage or upper body massage sessions.
🌸Melanie Pittman has a couple afternoon slots left on Monday for a relaxing facial or reflexology.

A question I get a lot! Which one is better?
The answer is neither is better, I personally use both blends but there are differences and reasons I created each. I blend essential oils with a synergistic approach and also incorporate botanical infusions for skin soothing properties and to add structure and decrease volatility.
Bug Off- my original blend that I created because I wanted a natural spray to offer wedding guests! Patchouli, lemongrass, Bulgarian lavender and tangerine essential oils with calendula, aloe, glycerin and vitamin E for all those reasons I mentioned above!
I’d choose this one if you have young children and especially sensitive skin. Why tangerine? Tangerine doesn’t repel insects per se but lends skin penetrating enhancement and balances the blend in an olfactory way. See- nothing is in there without a reason…
Backwoods Blend- I created after the CDC endorsed lemon eucalyptus as a natural repellant and I thought it would be wise to meet the needs of folks searching! This also contains the same botanicals as Bug Off plus the following essential oils in addition to eucalyptus citriodora: Lavender, geranium, lemongrass, patchouli, and cypress. The lavender and geranium provide skin soothing properties as well but this one I recommend not be used on young children or for those with sensitive skin. Geranium also contains similar components to lemongrass, creating that synergy of plant chemistry that alights my geeky brain!
You honestly couldn’t buy and make these cheaper than what I sell, so please, drop a dime to your local Herbalist and stop by or visit my website if you’re not local. Enjoy the outdoors!
