Today, instead of addressing the noise, we want to celebrate.
HIPAA keeps us silent on social media. We can't respond to comments about specific situations, even when we'd like nothing more than to share the full picture. So when our patients step in with truth and good faith on our behalf we notice, and we are grateful.
This isn't the first time it's happened, and it probably won't be the last. Every time it does, we're reminded how fortunate we are to serve a community that pays attention, asks fair questions, and isn't afraid to speak honestly.
We're not perfect. We have things to improve, and we work on them. If you ever have a concern, please call 352-504-3500, option 7 (Administration). We want to hear it directly, and we want the chance to make it right.
We're proud to remain independent answerable to our patients, not to a hospital, a private equity firm, or an insurance company. That independence is something our patients help us protect every day.
To everyone who has spoken up for us when we couldn't: thank you. We see you, and we don't take it for granted.
