We often underestimate the power of ordinary habits.

A few minutes of quiet in the morning.

One intentional breath during a busy day.

A screen-free evening routine.

Individually, they don't seem like much.

But practiced consistently, they can change how you feel, how you sleep, how you handle stress, and how you move through your day.

NEW EPISODE OUT NOW 🎙️

As a South Asian, your risk of heart disease may be higher than you think.

In this week's episode, I sit down with preventive cardiologist Dr. Sourbha Dani to discuss why South Asians develop heart disease, diabetes, and metabolic disease earlier than many other populations and why prevention needs to start long before symptoms appear.

We discuss:
🔹 Why South Asians carry a uniquely high cardiovascular risk
🔹 Why a normal BMI doesn't always mean you're healthy
🔹 The connection between insulin resistance and heart disease
🔹 Why prediabetes should never be brushed off as "just borderline"
🔹 How lifestyle choices can dramatically change your future health

One statement from Dr. Dani really stood out: "Genetics loads the gun, but lifestyle fires it."

Heart disease doesn't start with a heart attack. It starts years earlier with silent risk factors that often go unnoticed.

Part 1 is live now. Part 2 drops next week. Link in bio — go listen, and share this with someone who needs it. 💛

Are you constantly tired, struggling with brain fog, or noticing changes in your weight that just don't seem to make sense?

It's easy to blame stress, aging, or a lack of sleep, but sometimes the answer is something else entirely.

Your thyroid affects far more than most people realize. This small gland plays a major role in regulating your energy, metabolism, mood, memory, sleep, skin health, and even how your body responds to temperature.

When your thyroid is out of balance, the effects can show up throughout your entire body. You may feel exhausted, have trouble concentrating, notice unexpected changes in your weight, or simply feel like something isn't quite right.

The good news? A simple blood test can often provide important answers.

If you've been experiencing persistent symptoms, don't ignore them or assume they're "normal." Understanding what's happening in your body is the first step toward feeling better.

👉 Swipe through to learn the signs of thyroid imbalance and what steps you can take next.

You cannot miss this one.

Tonight is Day 4 of M3: Dr. Makhija’s Metabolic Method.

Register: https://lnkd.in/gBebz3tk

A few months ago, I asked myself a simple question:
How do I bring the same conversations, questions, and learning that happen in my exam room and classroom into the community?

That question became a commitment to show up every evening from June 1–5 and teach what I believe every adult should know about metabolism, hormones, prevention, and healthy aging.

I had no idea how many people would join.
I had no idea how many would engage.
I simply knew the information was needed.

The response has been incredible. Our medical student from California Health Sciences University - CHSU sharing his experience on culinary medicine/ beans and lentils was heartwarming!

Together, we have simplified:
• GLP-1 myths and facts
• Nutrition and metabolic health
• Exercise and strength training
• Cardiovascular health
• Muscle and bone health
• Motivation, consistency, and sustainable habits

And tonight, we tackle one of the most important—and misunderstood—topics in endocrinology:
Stress, cortisol, and the hormonal interplay that affects energy, weight, metabolism, sleep, and overall well-being.

The more we simplify complex hormone science, the more empowered we become to navigate misinformation and make better health decisions.

Tomorrow, we conclude with practical tools, testing, body composition, continuous glucose monitoring, laboratory interpretation, and how to have more meaningful conversations with your clinician.

If you’re serious about your health, join us.
📅 Tonight
⏰ 5:30 PM Pacific
📍 Live Zoom Workshop: https://lnkd.in/gBebz3tk

Join from your phone, laptop, tablet, or wherever you are.

One hour.
Practical science.
Real action steps
Live Q&A.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Many people ask for cortisol testing hoping to find answers for fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, poor sleep, or feeling overwhelmed. Then the results come back "normal" and they're left even more confused.

Here's the truth: a normal cortisol level doesn't always tell the whole story.

Stress isn't just about a lab value. It's also about how your body responds to the demands of everyday life.

That's exactly why Day 4 of my FREE Masterclass is dedicated to hormones and stress.

We'll discuss:
✔️ When cortisol testing is actually helpful
✔️ When checking cortisol may be unnecessary
✔️ Common myths about stress hormones
✔️ Science-backed ways to improve your body's stress response

We start TODAY, but there's still time to join us!

The 5-day masterclass runs June 1–5, and you can still sign up and be part of the sessions.

Do you believe being on a GLP-1 medication is something to feel ashamed about… or hide?

What if understanding the actual science, biology, and evidence behind these medications could help you make an informed decision about whether they are appropriate for your health goals — or not?

Because the truth is:
GLP-1 medications are still medications.
They are backed by science.
They are not for everybody.
And they should never be approached without understanding metabolism, insulin resistance, muscle health, nutrition, side effects, and long-term strategy.

That is exactly why I’m hosting this free live workshop. (Link in Linktree)

One more day left.

Join me LIVE for the M3 Masterclass — Dr. Makhija’s Metabolic Method — starting tomorrow evening.

📅 June 1–5
⏰ 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM Pacific
📍 Live Zoom Workshop: Link in comments, stories and linktree

Day 1 is going to be powerful.

We are diving deep into:
✅ GLP-1 receptor agonists
✅ Common myths & misconceptions
✅ What these medications actually do
✅ Why some people succeed — and others struggle
✅ Real evidence-based science beyond social media trends

You’ll also receive a FREE 6-page educational guide reviewing FDA-approved GLP-1 injectable medications and oral options.

The reason I’m holding this workshop is simple:
I want adults to have a space where they can ask real questions and receive honest, evidence-based answers grounded in science and nearly 20 years of clinical endocrinology expertise.

No personal medical advice will be provided during the workshop, but you will leave with clarity, education, and practical understanding.

This is a one-time live experience.
No replay will be available.

If you’re serious about understanding your metabolism, hormones, insulin resistance, GLP-1s, and prevention — I encourage you to join us.

Invite your friends, family, or colleagues who may benefit.

Registration is free.

If longevity is your goal, does that mean you need a GLP-1 medication?

Not necessarily.

Here's what we know:

GLP-1 receptor agonists can help people with conditions like type 2 diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, sleep apnea, and other metabolic concerns. For the right patient, these medications can be incredibly effective tools.

Research has shown that improving blood sugar control and achieving meaningful weight loss can lower the risk of heart disease, certain cancers, and other chronic conditions.

That's where the conversation around longevity comes from.

But longevity isn't just about taking a medication. It's about building a healthier future through nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and using the right medical tools when appropriate.

GLP-1s are not a shortcut to a longer life. They're one piece of a much bigger picture.

Before starting any medication, make sure you understand the benefits, risks, goals, and whether it's the right fit for you.

If you want to better understand GLP-1 medications, metabolism, hormones, nutrition, exercise, and what is really happening inside the body… I would love for you to join me for my FREE masterclass:

If you are starting a GLP-1 medication… or prescribing one to your patients, this is something you NEED to know 👇

One of the biggest reasons people struggle with GLP-1 medications is not because the medication “doesn’t work.” It’s because they are not prepared for the gastrointestinal side effects that can happen along the way.

A lot of these symptoms can often be reduced when you understand how these medications are meant to be started and managed.

As an endocrinologist, one of the most important things I tell patients and clinicians is this:
➡️ Start low.
➡️ Go slow.

The lower the starting dose and the slower the progression, the better the chances of improving tolerance and reducing side effects.

But another important mindset shift? Stop measuring success only by the number on the scale.

Instead ask yourself:
• Am I feeling better?
• Is my energy improving?
• Do I feel lighter?
• Are my clothes fitting differently?
• Is my metabolic health improving from the inside out?

Because those changes matter too. And they are often the first signs that your body is responding positively.

If you want to better understand GLP-1 medications, metabolism, hormones, nutrition, exercise, and what is really happening inside the body… I would love for you to join me for my FREE masterclass:

05/26/2026

What if you could get the benefits of a GLP-1 medication — without the needle, without the weekly injection, without the sting — simply by taking a pill?

That is no longer a hypothetical. It is here.

And as someone who has been prescribing GLP-1 receptor agonists since they first received FDA approval, I want to make sure you have the right information before you walk into your next appointment.

In this post, I am breaking down two oral GLP-1 medications that have recently entered the space — what they are, how they work, who they are for, and most importantly, why the guidance of an endocrinologist matters more than ever when considering them.

Clinical trials for both medications have shown meaningful weight reduction, but I always remind my patients of this:

These medications are tools, not magic.

Long-term success still comes back to nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, muscle health, metabolic health, and sustainability.

The goal is never just “weight loss.” It’s improving health in a way that you can actually maintain long term.

And that’s why personalized care matters so much.

If you’ve been curious about oral GLP-1 medications, comment “PILL” below, and I'll send you the episode link 🎙️💊

In this episode, I’m walking you through how I approach GLP-1 titration clinically with my own patients — including Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound.

I’m also sharing:

✔️ What I monitor clinically during dose adjustments
✔️ The role of lifestyle changes alongside medication
✔️ Why preserving muscle mass matters
✔️ Common GI side effects and how to manage them
✔️ When it actually makes sense to increase the dose

I also explain why your journey should be individualized — not based on what someone else is doing online.

If you’ve ever felt confused about dosing, side effects, plateaus, or whether your medication is “working,” this episode is for you. 🎧
