Have you ever wondered how your child can make it through an entire school day...only to completely fall apart once they get home? 🫠

It can be frustrating, especially when something as simple as “How was your day?” or “Let’s get your homework started” suddenly gets a reaction you weren’t expecting.
But think about how much their brain and body have already been asked to manage before they ever walk through your door. 👀

After a full day of learning, listening, socializing, following directions, and moving from one expectation to the next, a little time to decompress can help kids make the transition from school mode to home mode before taking on everything the evening brings.

And sometimes, a few small changes to those first minutes at home can make that transition feel a whole lot easier.

Swipe through to see what may be happening behind those after-school meltdowns....and a few simple ways to support your child’s nervous system as they shift into the rest of their day. 🤍

Have you ever had something start hurting and thought, “But I didn't DO anything to it!” 🙋🏻‍♀️

Sometimes there isn't one obvious moment to blame. Our bodies are incredibly good at adapting, and small changes in how we move can develop for all kinds of reasons. Over time, other areas may begin doing a little more work to keep everything moving the way we need it to. And we may not notice any of it happening until something finally starts asking for our attention!

That's one reason chiropractors look beyond the location of a symptom. How your joints move, where mobility may be limited, and how different areas of the body work together can give us important information about the bigger picture.

Swipe through to learn how compensation works, why it can develop without us realizing it, and why the place that hurts isn't always where the story began. 🙌🏻

That Tingling or Numb Feeling Isn't Something to Ignore ⚡

It shows up in different ways: your hand falling asleep on a long drive, your feet going numb after too long at your desk, a tingling in your fingers that comes and goes for no clear reason.
It's easy to brush these off as "just circulation" or a weird sleeping position. And sometimes, that's exactly what it is! But when numbness or tingling becomes a regular occurrence, it's often your nervous system trying to get your attention.
Numbness and tingling (sometimes called "pins and needles") usually point to some kind of nerve irritation or compression along the pathway between your spine and the affected area.

A few common contributors:
🦴 Spinal misalignment, which can place pressure on nearby nerve roots
🪑 Prolonged poor posture, especially from sitting or looking down at a screen for long periods
💪 Muscle tension, which can compress nerves as they pass through tight areas of the body
🧠 Nervous system stress, which can heighten sensitivity and make normal signals feel amplified

Because your nerves travel from your spine all the way out to your hands and feet, irritation doesn't have to happen at the exact spot where you feel the symptom. Something as small as ongoing tension in the neck or lower back can show up as numbness or tingling much further down the line.

Chiropractic care focuses on identifying and relieving that nerve interference at its source, helping restore clear communication between your brain and body, rather than just addressing where the sensation shows up.
If numbness or tingling has become a regular visitor, it might be worth finding out what your nervous system is trying to tell you. ⚡

A little late to the feed, but too sweet not to share! 🤍✨

This mama came in for her last prenatal adjustment before meeting her little one…and now that sweet baby is officially here! 🥹

We got a little behind on sharing, but we couldn’t let such a special milestone go uncelebrated. Congratulations to this sweet family on their precious new baby! 💕

One sibling can be perfectly fine until the other one starts melting down. 🥴

And then suddenly, within a matter of minutes, everybody is upset.

It doesn't even matter if the second child was involved in what started it. One sibling gets upset, and suddenly the whole house feels like it's unraveling at once.
Kids are constantly paying attention to one another, even when it doesn't look like they are. Tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, and emotional cues are all being picked up and processed in the background throughout the day. When one sibling's nervous system shifts into distress, the other child's body often picks up on that shift and responds right along with it.

It can look like:

▪️one meltdown turning into two within minutes
▪️a child suddenly clinging or needing extra reassurance after watching a sibling struggle
▪️siblings escalating each other back and forth instead of one settling the other down
▪️ a generally easygoing kid becoming unusually irritable or weepy after a tense moment in the house

Siblings spend so much time together that it's not surprising their moods and reactions influence one another. The closer the relationship, the more likely they are to affect each other in ways that happen automatically and beneath conscious awareness. Chiropractic care helps support how well each child's nervous system responds to stress and recovers from it. When kids have a little more reserve, they're often less likely to get swept up in every emotional wave happening around them.
This isn't about keeping siblings from ever affecting one another, but about helping them recover and settle a little more easily when those moments do happen. 😊
