A beautiful hospice moment filled with love, friendship and joy!

We were honored to help make Dorothy’s heartfelt wish come true—to reunite with her lifelong best friend, Lucye, after more than a year apart. Their friendship, which began in 1951, has remained strong through every season of life.

Their laughter and love filled the room, and of course, no reunion would be complete without a little singing! 🎶

This special moment was made possible by our dedicated clinical team, generous donors and our community partner, Central PA Medical Transport LLC . Dorothy and Lucye expressed their gratitude for the compassionate care they received, calling hospice services a true blessing.

Thanks to an early referral to hospice, this reunion became a reality, allowing us to provide the support and care needed to honor their wishes.

Dorothy’s words say it all: “You all are the tops!”

At Hospice & Community Care, we believe in honoring wishes and creating meaningful memories. If you or a loved one could benefit from hospice care, please call us anytime at (844) 422-4031. We are honored to walk alongside families during life’s most meaningful moments.

As we celebrate Independence Day, we honor the stories of our veterans. At Hospice & Community Care, we are dedicated to caring for veterans with the respect and compassion they deserve through our Veteran-to-Veteran Program, which pairs veteran volunteers with hospice patients for meaningful connections.

Recently, our Volunteer Coordinator, Amanda, and Veteran Volunteer, Ken Krajewski, spoke with the Vietnam Veterans of America White Rose Chapter 1032 about this impactful program. A highlight of the presentation was honoring Vietnam veteran Bob Fink with a Pinning Ceremony, where we presented him with a military pin, service certificate and flag. This heartfelt moment inspired the chapter to generously donate $500 to support our program…thank you! Bob is now an active volunteer, sharing his experiences with fellow veterans.

If you’re a veteran looking to give back, we invite you to join our Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer team. Call us at (717) 295-3900 to learn more.

This Independence Day weekend, we proudly honor all who have served. ❤️🤍💙
