We're excited to welcome Adrian R. Villarreal, DO, a board-certified family medicine physician, to Laredo Physicians Group.

Dr. Villarreal provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including preventive care, annual wellness visits, treatment of acute illnesses and chronic disease management.

Appointments can be scheduled at 956-704-2002. Starting August 10, we will welcome walk-in patients and offer same-day appointments.

The office of Dr. Villarreal is located at 8607 McPherson Road, Suite 101.

Doctors Hospital of Laredo has been named among U.S. News and World Report's 2026-2027 Best Hospitals edition as a High Performing hospital for Heart Attack and Pneumonia. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

Fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earned a 'High Performing' designation in the types of care evaluated by U.S. News.

U.S. News’ annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

A heartfelt thank you to our valued community partner, Texas A&M International University's Canseco School of Nursing, for hosting the United Independent School District Health Services nursing team for a day of hands-on skills training.

More than 50 school nurses participated in the educational event, led by the Doctors Hospital of Laredo education team: Erica Leal, DNP, MSN, RN, director of education, and Ricardo Guarneros, MSN, RN, nursing educator. We were also pleased to welcome Emily Fernandez, BSN, RN, an MSN student at Texas A&M International University, who joined the training.

We are proud to partner with United ISD and Texas A&M International University to strengthen the knowledge and skills of school nurses throughout our community. Together, we are investing in the health, safety and well-being of local students.

The EmpowerHer Women’s Health Forum was a wonderful success. Hosted by Doctors Hospital, the event focused on educating, inspiring and supporting women through every stage of life. The forum brought together a full house of attendees to explore valuable resources, gain expert insights and engage in meaningful conversations on topics that matter most to women’s health.

Thank you to our forum speakers: Sandra Flores, WHNP-BC; Dr. Jennifer Garcia-Davalos, internal medicine; and Laredo Physicians Group physicians Dr. Luz Rodriguez, family medicine, and Dr. Alina Ghani, general surgeon.

Dr. Domingo Arechiga’s lifelong dedication to education and leadership helped shape generations of students and strengthen our community. It is fitting that this newly restored building will serve as the college’s advising center, guiding students as they take the next steps toward their futures.
